CENTRO hands down
No one has mentioned Dan Huling. I watched him run his 7:59 qualifier with a rabbit for the early goings, but no real competition. He looked like he had some more in him. I think it was a PR, but still I can see him finishing in the top 5 and maybe even top 3... If he puts himself in the race, I think he can be dangerous.

So I said Teg, Riley, Solinsky, Slattery, Asmerom, so I wasn't too far off. Schumacher's athletes filled up 1st through 3rd, as was pretty much expected.
Why doesn't Schumacher get more attention for being such an amazing, great coach?
Does anyone have somewhat accurate splits on this race(I live on the west coast with no good dish options)? It was obviously a slow race, but I'm curious how they finished(last 1200m, 1000m, 800m, 600m, 400m, 200m?), because that could say a lot about what kind of shape the Schumacher contingent is in or what kind of shape certain individuals in the Schumacher contingent are in.
Ballpark from the other side of the track, I had Solinsky's last 800 in 1:55.mid. If memory serves he was ahead of Teg going into it.

Nice job dwigt, that was pretty darn accurate.
I read 1:53 for Teg.

Before Teg and Solinsky these past few years, there was nothing to indicate this, and aside from them there really isn't a lot to look at. Either way he'll obviously get a lot more credit now.
However, I've heard a few people question why only Teg and Solinsky have had such unusual and amazing success though. You hope nothing sketchy is going on, but there improvement is rather unheard of, while no one else is doing the same using the same training.
It seems that the runners from Oregon are pussies compared to the Badgers.
Vote for me in TX and OH on 3/4

You have to be kidding (or clueless); check out some of the Wisco indoor distance results!!! They have consistently been one of the top distance programs in the nations for 6-7 years.
He coaches Riley (great comeback), Solinsky (great first year, last summer, at the pro level), and Teg (he is staying healthy after changing his training routine)
Brandon Bethke ran 7:51 and 3:59 his last two races, jack bolas also ran 3:59, so i think schumacher knows what he is doing
I guess it is a sad aspect of our sport that whenever someone experiences a great deal of accomplishment people are always quick to accuse that they must be doping. As was said by the previous posters, Jerry is a fine coach, and I believe the top young distance coach in the country.
You say there was nothing to indicate the success of Teg and Solinsky but you could not be further from the truth. The Badgers have consistently been at the top of the collegiate scene and Jerry has produced fast post collegiate before. Guys like Isiah Festa, Bairu, Tim Nelson, Matt and Andy Downing, his current athletes.....while Teg and Solinsky are by far achieving the most, Schumacher's sample size of athletes have been far less than other great coaches. I think it is exciting for US track and field for what he can continue to develop for years into the future!!
Please leave your insane (and completely false) acquisitions about drug usage elsewhere. Jealous much??
Tegenkamp was in my first ever recruiting class, so it would be hard for me to do more. Also I would not be surprised if I have three-four different guys run under 28 for the 10k.

Funny, that seems almost identical to the Big East 3000m with just the names changed. Times are very similar.
Well Simon Bairu has run a few good races and had several PRs in Europe last summer. Nelson had some PRs also in Europe and he looked fabulously smooth in the indoor 3000 on Saturday. As others have mentioned, his 'milers' group of Bolas, Bethke, Miller, et al are putting up some pretty good numbers and beat their counterparts from Oregon at the USATF DMR yesterday.
