you can see the video of her race on flotrack
"retarded"
That might be the worst post ever. You can't be serious, ever heard of talent?
Whilst I agree that several of the people on the list are in fact druggies it is the providence arrogance that one of there's would never take drugs that baffles me. Like a Kenyan runs 12.50 and he has to be on drugs but Mark Carrol runs 13.03 and it is because of talent.
Same with kim smith - ethiopians run 14.10 or whatever and are immediately labelled as suspect but Kim is just talented.
There have been a few people in the prov circle caught in drug storms - maybe she is just another one of them.
kim smith is not on the list - that list was 1-19
Kim Smith runs well alone with no competition.

For those who are prepared to call Kim a drug cheat,
This is another classic f***en example of one-eyed Americans at their worst. The moment an American does something exceptional they're a hero and a god-send for the sport of running, ala Ryan Hall. When an athlete from any other country performs to a similar standard they're automatically a drug cheat? How does that work?
Do yourselves a favour and look at Kim’s progression. She was dominant way back when as a junior, and she’s dominant now. It’s amazing what hard work and dedication can do. Some of you could learn a lesson from her.
Tell me, how many drug cheats does/has New Zealand had/have? How many drug cheats does/has America had/have?
I thought so.
The onus shouldn’t be on Kim Smith to prove her innocence. Is this the reward awaiting gifted athletes who are prepared to devote a half-lifetime of commitment and dedication to bettering the sport of running? Gee, I hope I only attain a mediocre level of success, anything outstanding could ruin my career. Ass clowns.
I believe that Kim Smith is clean, as are the other Kiwi runners. However, keep in mind that people on these boards also love to throw around drug accusations at Americans as well.
Who in Providence circles was supposedly caught in a drug storm?
Having met Kim Smith a few times, watched her progression, and seen how hard she works and races, there's zero percent chance she's drugging. These absolutely groundless aspersions cast against top runners need to stop... though I don't expect them to.
Dear Irate KIWI,
I don't believe the person who said that Kim was a cheat is an American. Maybe, but he/she opened with the word "whilst." Possibly an American trying to throw you off, but that wouldn't make much sense.

NZ was still part of the commonwealth last time I checked...
God save the Queen.
I cannot believe that you guys are having this sort of conversation.
I personally know Kimberly Smith and she works very hard to achieve the success she has had.
I know for a fact that she would never take drugs and for you to mention it with her name just shows how screwed up the American Running scene is (Oh she would have to be on drugs to run like that)Well hey it's called hard work and even when Kim was here in NZ she did her training and really hard too.
SHAME ON YOU GUYS FOR THINKING IT!!!!!!
Celerbrate the success and the greater things to come.
By the way she does enjoy a GOOD BEER or WINE
dazza, everyone who runs a fast time like that will be a suspect. thats part of the game. its got nothing to do with the person's character.
I completely disagree, If someone uses drugs, that should tell you something about their character. I personally feel Kim isn't on anything, but who knows.
Having your name mentioned in the same breath as 'drugs' is a sign that you've truly made it to world class status. It's so sad that the 'Tall Poppy Syndrome' (google it) affects sport these days, and even sadder that some perverse twits feel the need to throw mud. What's wrong with you? Is she beating your girl?
You can accurately say Kim is on drugs - but you'd be totally wrong if you said "illegal performance enhancing drugs", but because of semantics the taint sticks. Kim has been on prescription meds due to life-threatening blood clots which ruled her out of the Commonwealth Games. Her blood has been thinned, which is brings no advantage (unlike EPO, which thickens the blood). Anyone who has followed her career for the last ten years would know of her steady progression. Her results come from genetics (hard to fathom knowing her olds - haha!) and hard work from a real obsession for being the best. She has much in common with Kimi Raikonnen - speed, blue eyes, blonde, ice cold clinical racer, and known to have the odd drink! Damn the torpedoes Kim - just keep doing what works for you. d.
