I got a stress fracture during last cross country season in my tibia. Previously, the worst running injury I've had was simply tendonitis. I took 6 weeks off and began running slow and short with a very slow increase (.25 mile, off, .5 mile, off, .75....). I got up to 5 miles before I started to have a little bit of pain, but in a different place than my original stress fracture, because this one was slightly lower now. I took a week off, but it wasn't really off seeing that I had to do a lot of work during that week and was on my feet a lot. The next few days back running were a lot better and I ran 6 miles on my 4th day back. However, a few days after that, I had pain again. I'm trying another week off, but now I'm worried I got yet another stress fracture. I bought the Asics Nimbus 9 for more cushioning, so maybe that will help. Anyone have any advice? Is track season over before it started for me? I'll do anything I can to get back to running normal again, but so far nothing has really worked and I'm starting to get frustrated.
