I'm in high school and today I got a letter inviting me to the 8th annual Down Under Track & Field Meet to represent Texas. Have any of yall done this? I want to know more about what this is like.

i think everyone gets that letter
I went last summer for cross country and it was so much fun. I'm not sure that it was worth the $4000+ dollars it cost but I enjoyed every minute of it and would do it again in a heartbeat. The competition isn't the best but it's decent. If you're looking for a cross country camp type atmosphere to get you in shape this isn't it but its a fun vacation with other people who share your passion.
Me and 2 of my teammates did this the summer before my senior year. A third friend was supposed to join us but his mom freaked out about SARS and made him cancel. The rest of us raised money and it cost me almost nothing. I got most of it by writing to local buisnesses, orginizations and family/friends for small donations and raised about about 2/3rds the money. The price I paid for 2 weeks in Australia....plus I got to compete in an international track meet, met some amazing runners and got to practice in the olympic stadium. Wouldnt trade that experiance in for anything in the world.
