in superbad, when seth is running around the track and gets passed by the guy with one leg, is it likely that seth is running a 10k? because if he is, then seth is not matt tegenkamp. why? because teg doesn't run the 10k. gosh! how long does it take you thick skulled idiots to get that?

when someone tries really hard to be funny (and does not succeed) it has the opposite effect on the reader that good humor has. spare us all. please.

I've seriously wondered this too; it's definitely Arizona, you can tell from the license plates on the cars. The very first shot is actually a slightly zoomed out frame of the license plate on Seth's car.

Look at the license plates on the cars, they're clearly the purple mountains and white background of AZ license plates. You can also see one the first time Seth gets hit by a car ("i didn't even effing SEE you man!") Just because it may have been filmed in those locations doesn't mean the fictional story takes place there.

Also, the cops' shirts have patches that say Clark County on them, I don't know Cali geography but from a cursory search it seems like San Fernando is not in Clark County.

But also that there is no Clark County in AZ, so I think it's a fictional town in Arizona.

Where it was FILMED was in socal. But I guess it can take place in AZ. However, just because ONE license plate says AZ I still don't think that means that it is necessarily set in AZ.

Ok, I know this is dumb but why do all these kids come on here and say that same joke about Matt Teg. and a 10k? I cannot imagine it to be funny in any way possible but can someone please explain the significance? I really don't even know why I care...

they talk about going to Dartmouth which is obviously not out west. I think it is supposed to be Anytown, USA though. They don't even use last names in the movie except for the officers.
