NICE JOB GUYS!
I hope that this kind of technology can help elevate distance running in the US.
PS Have you checked with the NCAA about rules on video footage and coverage? Just some CYA? I sure hope they allow it!
Keep up the good work!
See ya' in Terra Haute!
Go Utes!
If this helps at all, I talked to a representative from the NCAA last week concerning the posibility of having Trackshark.com providing video clips of NCAA Championship events. Since I have a ton of clips in .mpg format, I thought it would be a great idea to have them on the site for the public to download and view.
However, they stated that the NCAA has the rights to any broadcasted events, such as the outdoor champs on CBS and the indoor champs on ESPN. You also can't post any videos of NCAA Championship events taken from your own camera. The only way a site can do this is pay for a licensing fee which can range into thousands of dollars.
With that said, I would be very careful with posting those clips. It's always good to take the necessary steps in getting permission from the NCAA first before going ahead and doing so. Feel free to contact me at my email listed and I can give you the NCAA department phone number.
