Well so much for going out easy, feeling good at 30k, and negative splitting...
But on the bright side, Geb is now the proud owner of the TWO fastest marathon times in history. What a guy.

Did it occur to anybody else that the Dubai marathon organizers instructed the pacers to screw Geb up? So they could get the publicity of the WR attempt but keep the million dollar bonus in their pockets?
Just a thought.
I had wondered if they had something to do with Kennedy's assassination or faking an Apollo moon landing or smuggling the blood heir of Jesus and Mary Magdalene to Gaul, but I never thought about them screwing around with the pacers. Interesting.
Post-race interviews with Geb? Links, please. Anyone?

Well, maybe there is something to it. Here's something interesting from Reuters:
"...He had been chasing a $1 million (511,000 pound) prize on offer for breaking his own world record but fell 27 seconds short of the mark he set in Berlin last September.
"One pacemaker at the beginning of the race didn't do the right job," he said. "I told him several times just to slow down and he didn't do that. He didn't listen to me," said Gebrselassie.
"I said to him four or five times 'what's going on, man? Cool it' And that was the mistake...really I can say I'm lucky just to finish the race. In such a kind of race, when it's too fast at the beginning there is a possibility just to drop out."
Hall, Ritz, and Sell have not chance at a gold medal this summer. LOSERS!!!
i am really happy and proud of my favorite runner bezunesh, looks like little china is going to china.

Sorry, someone on page 3 said imagine our reaction if someone like Hall ran a 2:04:57.....
It's amazing to think what the WR would have been had the pacers done a better job in the beginning.
