Have you checked out Sebastian Coes's training? In Better Training For Distance runners they talk about 30 x 200 in 27 to 28 seconds with 45 seconds recovery, with one or two of the 200 reps in 25 or so. In Winning Running they mention 16 x 200 at 1500 pace on pages 84 and 85.
Are you still sure that running slower than [800] race pace 200's is a waste of time and incredibly BAD advice?
