Has anyone else had trouble with the new coolrunning log. I have seven runners I coach using that log and now I don't know how to navigate the site. I'm looking for another log that lets you view and edit others workouts. Any suggestions.

Coolrunning moved their log over to Active.com. The Active log sucks. I switched over to running2win.com. You might find what you need there. You can setup teams for your runners where the logs are open to everyone. E-mail the site manager and he can upload you coolrunning history if you ever downloaded it to a spreadsheet.
running to win is taking imports from coolrunning! ide reccomdend the site its AMAZING!! its run by Mike Stahr the USA distance runner who ran a sub 4 minute mile
I tend to suggest Athleticore.
I have used runlog from pegasus software for years. Really excellent. You can keep track of multiple runners and customise yourself to show exactly what you want to record. Give a name to your session ie " 400 intervals" and you can click on it in the future and all sessions/times ever recorded and full info are shown on one page
you can do that on running2win too...
Hey,
Anyway to get old information off the active.com site? All my stuff transfered from coolrunning, but I can't figure out how to export it. Anyone know???
d
If you ever "shared" your coolrunning log, you can access it by using the following URL.
http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=yourusername
;s=yoursharedpassword
or
http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=yourusername
;p=yourprivatepassword
This info was posted by a very nice person on the coolrunning message board.
Unfortunately, if you never shared your log, it doesn't look like you can access it even if you use your private password. I was able to access mine (which I've shared in the past), but not my wife's (she never shared it).
I'm planning to continue to use my old coolrunning log by accessing it with this type of URL. I'll download it every time I change it in case they disable this type of access at some point. The download takes just two clicks, which was one of many things that was nice about this log. I bet on the active site you have to navigate through 5 pages to do the same thing.
It's moments like this that make me so glad I downloaded everything to a spreadsheet before this nonsense started!
Can you tell me where you found your coolrunning stuff? I can't even find anything that looks remotely like a running log on the Active site. And all those emails we've been getting for months said that all of our information would still be available. WTF?!
Here's a message from 10/31/07:
Greetings Cool Runners,
As you may already know, Cool Running is integrating its login system, forums and training logs with The Active Network around the end of November 2007. To ensure that all CR members experience a smooth transition and understand the details behind the changes, below you'll find answers to FAQ'-s.
If you have specific questions or concerns, please email Active.com support or visit the Active Transition board on Cool Running.
We will send a reminder email along with the specific date of the transition in the coming days.
Active login information is Email and Password rather than Member Name and Password. You will have a Member Name on Active, we just call it Display Name.
If you notice a few extra digits at the end of your Display Name, that means another Active Network user had the same one. You'll be able to update your Display Name at anytime within the Account section of My Active.
If you already had an Active account and used the same email address in your account on both sites, you'll now use your Active login info on Cool Running. You may also use your new Active account to log in to any Active Network-managed managed Web service or property.
Active's privacy policy includes everything outlined in the CR policy. Active goes a bit deeper to cover all our services. You can read it here:
http://www.activenetwork.com/privacy-policy.htm
You will still log in and interact on the forums directly within the Cool Running site, not on the Active community site. CR will remain in its own community space. Rest assured, all past threads and replies will be migrated to the new forums.
The new forums will provide staff and moderators with more moderation tools and improved posting and notification features.
Active will be transitioning current CR Log users to Active Trainer. CR Log users will be able to import all their training data to their new Active Trainer account. We have made every effort to assure that no data will be lost in the transition. Using Active Trainer as a log is 100 percent free.
Best Regards,
Your friends at Active.com
1) Go to
http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=myusername
(replace myusername with your actual cool running username)
2) Go to tools, and download your running log
3) Find a new running log site, I chose RunningAHEAD.com. It's very clean, easy to use, and the server is FAST from what I've seen. They also have a GPS import feature on the way. On the front page it has instructions on how to get your data imported.
I just tracked the site down, and sent instructions to migrate my old log. It says it'll take up to 24 hours.
runningAhead.com is one of the best online logs I've seen, highly recommended and it'll import your coolrunning log data.
Trouble. That would be an understatement.
It seems a bit like learning a new language.
Here's another vote for RunningAhead.com. I transferred my CoolRunning log (which had 5 years worth of runs) there a few months ago. I like it so much I made a $50 PayPal donation to the guy who runs it.
One nice thing about it was that it properly imported all of my shoes and courses.

Any hints on importing coolrunning data on this one?
Just send an email to Mike, the guy who runs the site.
They also have a big banner at the top of the page right now, talking about importing.
