it's worth noting (1) this list naturally caters to a reporting bias of really fast people and (2) road 5Ks aren't always accurately measured. no matter the bias, if this thread is a true representation of letsrun.com readers than the OP is getting the answer to his question.

Last summer. After 70 5k races (mostly road). 30 years old. 80 miles a week. Runner since 1993. Surprised by all the talent around...median at a 15:57 ? Really ?
