I assure you all, this is not bs. Ziggy is sitting right next to me drinking yet another molson while we watch the shaw shank redemption.

I can't believe I'm missing this. f***in' little lebowski urban achievers.
The count currently stands at 18 beers on the night 70 beers total 89 miles.

i have to ask, how much water is Ziggy consuming throughout the day? I'm thinking if he were drinking 6-8 glasses a day that that is a hell of a lot of liquid to be consuming. Has he been pissing non stop. Like others have said this is truly a great feat that should be linked from the front page
I'm enjoying the thread and all, but we really need to see some reports from the front lines: What qualities do the hangovers have? What do the runs feel like? Is it tough to open that first can of beer each day, or is the hair of the dog thing operative? What kind of pace can the kid manage? Is he ending the day coherent, or is he a mumbling, incoherent mess?
The beer and mileage counts are fine. But what about the details?

I agree... devil's in the details.
Alright I'm taking over the updates for the time being. Our most proficient updater "urxc" is out of town for the remainder of the week.
Yesterday, from what I gather, went as follows:
Ziggy woke up hungover around 11. His sleep has been very fitful, he claims that he can not sleep for more than 20 minutes without waking up the morning after drinking. He hopped a ride to campus and suffered through an hour long review for a chemistry final. Ziggy went out immediately after and hammered out 16 miles alone. The final pace for the run was slow, around 2 hours, but considering it was in 8 inches of hard falling snow that's actually a decent effort. Drinking was started immediately after, he put away 3 beers in the shower, then grabbed some food at the dining hall and went to the field house to watch some of us do intervals. He talked to our coach for about 30 minutes but was still pretty well composed at this point. He then went and showered (again, it's a favorite pastime of his) and put away 4 more, and brought one up to the dining hall. At this point he was really hurting, the first couple he said tasted awful, and he was fighting will everything he's got not to heave in the shower. Ziggy had his 8th in the dining hall and then took about an hour break to eat dinner and clear out the system a bit. He got some coffee, as he claims that exhaustion is getting to be the hardest factor at this point. A group of us were headed out to the bars for a party, and Ziggy was planning on going. He got home and started to get ready, but with the daunting task of 10 more beers by nights end, Ziggy decided a crowded bar wouldn't be the best environment for him. So Ziggy forwent tail chasing (a rare decision for him) and settled down by the fire to watch the Shawshank Redemption. I left him there and headed out, but our freshman report he drank the 10 slowly but steadily, he was through 8 by the end of the movie, and then had his last two along with a lot of chinese food and was done a little after midnight. He's still in bed right now, but he's awake. He says the hangover this morning is bad, probably the worst it's been, but that may just be from the chinese. He's been drinking water, but not an outrageous amount. By nighttime he's peeing every 20 or 30 minutes, and for whatever reason his theme of the week is upspout, meaning he only pees upward, arching the stream into the bowl, I'm not sure what that's all about but it's making a bit of a mess you can imagine. He'll be doing a lot of cleaning on Sunday. One of the biggest challenges it both the toilets in the house are out of order, you can imagine that's rough on him in the morning.
To answer some other questions, the running for him is bearable, he has run up to 120+ in a week before. He says the long run Sunday was really brutal, and Monday he was having trouble getting up and down stairs, Monday's runs were probably mid 8 minute pace. Since then they've been back to normal easy run pace, probably low to mid 7s. He says the runs actually help get of the hangovers, but they also make him get drunk a lot quicker. By nights end he's usually a bit of a mess, Tuesday was the drunkest I've seen him, 17 beers in about 6.5 hours. Most mornings we have to tell him how the previous night ended.
That's all I'm able to get out of him at the moment. We still stand at 89 miles and 70 beers, there's talk of going for 120/110 but I think 100/100 is impressive enough. More updates when they happen.
I did not want to call it but there is no way to prove it either way
This is nothing! Didn't Dean drink 100 beers while running Badwater?
I would not call what Dean does at badwater running.
post a pic of the tab necklace
My guess, based on the handle, weather report and beer selection, is University of Rochester. Make us proud Ziggy!

Keep up the good work ziggy!

Thats exactly wat I was looking for. I like the new newscaster. I bet his head had to be feeling constantly shitty at this point. Does he pass out at the end of the night, or is it composted? I cant imagine the cumulative effect of that many consecutive nights. Hopefully things dont get too sloppy in the next 2 days when the drinking gets real heady.
i want to know how our hero is doing on his finals?

Ziggy does not have another final until later this week. He has attempted to attend review sessions as previously mentioned but as one can imagine studying while trying to pound 15 beers a night is not the easiest thing in the world. Good luck Ziggy. 2 to go.
Thanks for posting those details, it makes it a lot more interesting for sure.
Plus, with so many posts downplaying the difficulty of it, it's sort of satisfying in a way to know that he's hurting, but toughing it out.
okay update time:
ziggy hit a milestone today. 11 mile to start the day off means 100 total. Lets all congratulate the man, an impressive feat as it stands regardless of the remanding beers. ON that note though, ziggy's doing great with the beers, I've made a point of spending the day with him so I could update better, here's the deal:
We ran 11 this afternoon, 2 of the same 5 mile loops (which ziggy made up) and then another mile around campus. We talked about this and that, ziggy was generally quiet and out of it but most responsive when we brought up haiku's. My personal favorite got a laugh out of him,
Haiku's are easy
but sometimes they don't make sense
refrigerator
he ran on for about 30 seconds before responding
run a hundred miles
and then drink one hundred beers
your liver is f***ed
After the run Ziggy took a shower and had 2 beers, he then had a chicken sub, and returned to the locker room to take another shower and drink 2 more beers. He was still hungry I went and got some chips and salsa for him, and he sat and drank 2 more beers. He then took 2 more showers, drinking 2 beers during each shower, and stumbled up to the dining hall. He's sitting across from me now, trying to eat but mostly spilling food all over the table.
He's tired, but hanging tough, the plan for the night is to watch goodwill hunting and drink another 5-10.
Also, ziggy would like to thank nate lowe for the support.
more updates in a few hours
