What are your PRS and current training like
This is an important question. People can give you mileage guidelines, but you’re risking injury if you only run 30 miles per week now and jump straight to 70 miles per week. It should be a gradual build.
Coe and Ovette ran over 100 miles per week. So did Peter Snell. Centro ran 1:44 when was at NOP running 90 miles per week. Clayton Murphy and Bruce Hopel are around 60. You can run a fast 800 or 1500 off of relatively lower mileage but a lot of guys run a lot and run really fast at both distances.
