In response to a few of the posts on this thread...
1. I don't like the OP's idea. NTN is highly successful and is not going away. The idea of bringing together the top high school teams is awesome. Personally, a state vs. state competition isn't that exciting.
2. Nike gave Foot Locker every opportunity to jump on board with a national championship event for BOTH individuals and teams. Foot Locker has wanted to maintain it's individual focus, despite the writing on the wall. The idea that Nike is trying to push Foot Locker out is ridiculous. If so, why did they pick up Eastbay as a co-sponsor?
3. I'm not convinced that Adidas, Asics, Brooks, etc. will co-sponsor Foot Locker. Why didn't any of these shoe companies pick it up for this year? My guess is that they also see the writing on the wall -- NTN becoming THE national championship for individuals and teams.
