...and Merga is not even an invited runner!
The lead 3 are running very hard. They really broke away
I wsa just going to ask Merga's info. Thanks!
I would say if one breaks away, it would be Sato. Sit and sprint; then Wanjiru. But Merga? Now this is interesting...!
Sorry no info on Carrol. They are not showing behind the lead pack
just have to wait for the finish.
they still on about 2:06 pace?
Sato made a short breakaway attempt but they caught him quickly
last k 2:58
What the hell is he doing, wasting energy!? Nakamura used to say there are only 2 moves...; one to shake out; and another to break away. It has to be decisive!
wanjiru
merga
sato
sato has been dropped
i had asked on a thread earlier this week about deriba merga, i know his marathon best is only 213, but he has been running great lately and how does a low 59 minute half marathoner not get an invitation?
Is he gone "decisively"?
If I were Sato I would just protect my Olympic place and play it safe
There is a big gap maybe 100 meters
Okay, I got 45k 1:44:49 Wanjiru with Sato 7 seconds back with Merga in between.
You mean 35k, I'm guessing.

No, they were on the WR pace! Yup, I goofed. 35k. My finger was faster than my brain.
Sato looks good. He is not dying
