After reading his bio, which is nearly unbelievable. I am completely baffled. Why hasn't there been major biopic yet?

This AP article mentions that he was outstanding in T&F at Butte High School in Montana. Does anyone know his events and his times (or places)?
He competed in pole vault (possibly others), but I don't know any of his marks. He was also a great ski jumper back when Butte had a ski hill right in town. I know a few people who are close to him, so once the drama fades I can ask one of them. He sure was a character. RIP Evel.
That's pretty funny that he excelled in jumping things so early (pole vault and ski jump). If he was born 40 years later, I suspect he'd been an X Games champ. He was years ahead of his times.
RIP.
The movie he made with Lauren Hutton has to be the best worst movie of all time.
From Wikipedia, he dropped out of high school after the 10th grade. He competed in pole vault when he was in the army but no heights were given.
He really was the forerunner of the amazing things they do at the X games now.
He was a man's man. No bullshit. When he found out about his unauthorized bio book written by his former agent, he went to find the guy and beat the crap out of him with a baseball bat.
Favorite toy ever was the the motorcyle and action figure. Check it out.

The footage of him crashing at Ceasars is the best ever!
No one has a bad thing to say about Evel, growing up in the late 60's early 70's he is was by far my favorite athlete. We don't get to have heroes like Evel Knievel anymore, we try too hard to find something wrong with them.

Listen, a lot of people didn't like Abe Lincoln but EVERYBODY loved Evel. In an era marred by assassinations, Vietnam and Watergate, Evel made you proud to be American. His red, white and blue jumpsuits with matching capes, Harley-Davidson's and his #1 logo. A previous poster was right, there are no more American heroes like Evel. It's a shame, a damn shame.
RIP

Many people in his hometown can't stand the guy. In person he could be a world class asshole. Of course, no one's talking shit about himvthis week, but give it a month and they'll be back to saying what a dick he was.

Evel wasn't the a-hole, it's his son Robbie who is the first class asshole. A 10 year old jumped further than him at EK days a couple years ago while Robbie was at the bar telling everyone how great he was.
By the way, EK days is gonna be one sick party this next year in Butte.

Confirmed. Bought my cookware from his sister (sister-in-law?) who owned Cook's Nook in South Eugene.
Anyone listen to Jim Rome talk about Evel yesterday? He played part of an interview where Evel talked about the five things he believed a person needed to have to be successful in life.
The first thing he mentioned was a belief in God. That would have been good if he'd stopped there but he continued and made it even better. Evel said, "Aethists contribute nothing. I'm sorry but you don't."
Even in death the great legend, America's last superhero keeps on kicking ass! Well done.
