Let's talk a little bit about the Men's Masters race. All this message board seems to care about is the Men's Open. What about the old-timers? There is a master out there who was assigned to guard Diddy during the NYC marathon. He ran a 4:14 packing heat and watching out for them haters! That is something to be reckoned with.
Who is this man? The original Long Island Legend, Alex Cuozzo.
Look out for him on Saturday. When he takes a dozen Xanax and stays out of the sun for 12 hours beforehand, who knows where he'll finish.
WWCD
FYI...The weather forecast is starting to get ugly leading up to the race, and after it.
Regarding the anti-ringer rule, can someone run for a club that isn't in the team competition if that person doesn't meet the standards for being a club member?
For those looking for a course update, the course is mostly dry and hard right now (over 90% of its entirety). There are maybe 4-5 puddles on the low spots of the north section, but it's more like a track than a mudpit as of Monday evening (Dec 3).
Forecast says 1-2 inches of snow on Tuesday night, then no more snow or rain until Sunday. It's the Midwest - we'll see how quickly that forecast changes...
thanks for the update on weather!
thanks for the update on weather! keep us updated if you would the next few days
Yep. The rule is only in relation to team scoring.
bring on the rain - the muddier the better! Thats real cross country. Anything to get it away from being a flat fast predictable track.
don't worry, if the conditions are bad... they'll just run the race on a road course! ha ha ha ha!

Speaking of which, I was suppised not to see Jim Sorenson listed in the entries. Anyone know why he isn't running?
Chris Swisher will be top 10.
There are definitely some great runners entered, but I wonder if we'll see some more top end depth with the late entries. When you look back at the leaderboards from some of the recent club nationals races, you can see a greater display of talent than is currently signed up. A lot of guys with eyes on making the US team have used this as a tune up for the Nationals. Oh, and in 2005, Teg did run a 10K.

So basically this will be like the last year's d1 nationals. Great. That was the worst conditions I have ever run in. So painful.

You should have been at VOA park last year. It would have made your race look like a cakewalk.
well it applied to one of my team members. we were told they could race unattatched but not for our team since they do not live in our state.

GVH Is sending a pretty good team this year. I think they should be a top 10 contender and have a few guy's in the top 30, like Slick, Morseman, Lombardo.
