Everyone has a six pack. For most of us, it's just covered up with a layer of fat. Lose weight to reveal your six pack. Spot reduction is a myth. If spot reduction worked, lots of Americans would have skinny cheeks from using their jaws eating so much.
I've heard that a lot but am a disbeliever. I had a six pack once and now it's gone maybe forever but because I run so much my legs really don't have any visible fat and are hard as steel so I think if you use specific muscle groups enough you can get rid of fat in certain areas. I'm just not disciplined enough to get the 6 pack back.

Well Im 6ft1, weigh 65 kilos (not sure what these are in your american measurements) and have about 5% body fat so I dont think theres a lot more weight I can lose. As I say I dont have bad abs, I just want those stand out abs that give you the "wow" factor on the beach. Are chin ups/dips any use? I normally do about 100 sit ups 4 times a week. Maybe up it to 200 5 times? Whats worked best for you guys?
No one wants to see a Praying Mantis on the beach, gain some muscle mass before you hit the beach.......

You are replying to a thread that is 12 years old. This man died year's ago, from rhabdomyolysis and hernias caused by too many sit ups. Some idiot on here told him to do 10,000 per day.
Some people no matter how hard they try will ever achieve a 6 pack because genetics plays a big part in abs.
OP, the easiest way to get a six pack is to do ab workouts with weights. They will grow into bricks. When you loose weight, your partner will be able to drink melted ice-cream down the center cavity.
If you only do situps, you get those flat, ravioli like abs. You drink a big glass of water or have a big lunch and they go away. Pretty much just morning abs

This is the only correct answer so far.

His chest and arms look massive and his legs can squat unreal amounts of weight. But his abs, despite being incredibly hard and strong, are just not visible. Why? G-E-N-E-T-I-C-S.
Just look at his father:

Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym.

Could the stud muffins of you out there with a washboard stomach tell me how long it will take to get a decent six pack (its winter now so thought id get going on it early). Have a fairly decent core but not enough definition.
How many sit ups a day?
What are the best type of sit ups to do?
Roughly 1026
And the ones where you lift your torso as close to your quads as possible
