That woman in the background is hilarious.
White men CAN jump!
Rupp's got some HOPS baby!!!
That photo is from the Dellinger meet, not the NCAA. Check his number, you nimrods.
Rupp is the real deal.
Get over it.

That's right---free spikes and a week in the mountains at some training team camp wherever...That's the same as a month in Italy, a month living and training at a resort in New Mexico, having the free use of all the Nike Campus shit...Rupp paid back $6,000 so the NCAA knew he got extra benefits far beyond the normal DI perks...Do you think you and your personal coach and one or two family members joining you at various times could spend a couple months traveling to Europe and altitude locations for $6000?
Rupp is an outstanding runner. My point is that he got extra benefits that would have caused any other runner to lose eligibility, but Nike paid off the NCAA and Oregon.
The money that was repaid was for benefits the NCAA ruled he should have paid for that he hadn't paid for. You seem to be confusing that with the total expense of all the items he received. No one is saying all the trips, coaching, etc. only cost what he paid back. He was paying for things all along to try to maintain eligibility. Regarding your comment the extra benefits Rupp received would have caused any other runner to lose eligibility, you're 100% wrong. Athletes are regularly given chances to pay back improper benefits.

The second to last statement couldn't be more true.
Vin's got a bit of a dynasty brewing in Eugene, which makes this Duck alum pretty happy.
2007 results are in: Ducks #1, Haters DFL
Vin has to win something before a dynasty can begin. This time McDougal and Kipyego won. Try again next year, Vin. We'll be there.

Wow, I'm a fan who just loves running. I am also an old runner who ran with Galen's mom in college. She was a person of integrity. She worked really hard despite the injuries that plagued her. I cannot believe that she and her husband would do anything other than to raise a son who works hard for everything he gets. Surely he is talented. But he works for those free pairs of shoes. When I see Galen run I think about what a great thing for his family to see after how hard they have worked. I remember how hard his mom worked in college to get the job of her dreams.
I can sure see why Josh McDougal would be careful about what he reads before competition.
Was Rupp's mom hot? We need to know.
person in picture with galen rupp is not andy powell and probably patrick werhane - on the team now (still has track season left but no xc this fall) and a near-miss all-american in '06 for uo at ncaa xc's
the woman behind them is the race starter from the area - first name maybe is judy (don't know her last name)

Stop hating on Rupp and Salazar. Both have to work their butts off to get to where they are. Please let them enjoy their moment.
BOTH ARE DRUGGIES.
