Probably up too late watching the football game.
Forrest is in law school and is using his final season of eligibility for the Gophers.
Great result for the women's team! Fantastic team running...and solid job by the Gopher men, especially without Torchia. Hassan Mead is definitely the real deal.
Even without Woods...Williams, Switzer, and Gras ran poorly. Those are guys Michigan was banking on running well. I am sure that Williams will be fine since this was his first race all year. Switzer is sometimes eratic...so he should bounce back. He had a breakout year last track season and a good later season in XC.
Minnesota looked really tough in second...obviously Wisco looked real strong as well. The big ten looks good overall. Even with fast times at other conferences the Big Ten as a conference should do well at Nats.

Agreed, big 10 looked great. I'm looking forward to seeing how mn stacks up next year with torchia hopefully healthy.
Hassan Mead is a beast!!
I have to hand it to the Gopher women. Even their #6 and #7 runners were important because they beat MSU's 5th and that was the difference between winning the meet and taking second.
MSU is better than most think.
What happened to MI's Danielle Tauro?
I think she has a serious disease that effects her glycogen and how energy is processed or something. I remember overhearing that she has something pretty serious
isn't she the one who was almost crawling towards the finish chute at Pre-Nats? I wouldn't count on her to do anything this year...
At the Big Ten Coaches meeting last night they discussed the network being there. They had 3 HD cameras there and a crew of 8-10. They talked about how this was the first cross country meet that the producer had ever done.
In talking with five guys from the Big Ten Network at the race today, I thank them for doing the coverage. One guy told me that they hadn’t committed to sending a crew to cover the event until earlier in the week.
I have already emailed the Big Ten Network thanking them for their coverage, feel free to do the same.

If I'm reading the results correcty, MSU ran without their #5 Katie Kelly, who is usually closer to their #4 than she is to their #6. It's easy to play the if game, but it at least gives you something to think about. I'm not sure where she was, but I think it's safe to assume that they're a lot better than most people thought they were.
There's a good chance that the Big Ten and Pac 10 will have 8 of the top 10 spots at nationals (along with Princeton and maybe Arkansas). That's quite something.
The current OSU womens team may be the worst team ever. 330 points! I would say that Karen Dinnis will run it further into the ground, but how much worse can a team be than 330?
they OSU women consist of 5 FR, 3 SO, and 1 JR.
it may be a case of inexperience.
they'll get better.
Great run by both u of m teams. Mead is the deal. After last years poor performance by the gopher men. Nice work to all. Should dump the other u of m a ways back in the polls.
I was struck by how young a number of teams are. In the mens race there were three seniors at 11/12/13, but before and after for quite a ways it was dominated by younger guys, many of them underclassmen. The epitome of this is Mead in second, and it is emphasized by Wisconsin not having a senior in the entire nine that they sent. Even the teams that did poorly (Purdue's men) looks like were run to give the underclassmen the experience.
can someone send a link to mens team results? i can only get individual mens results up on finishtiming.com
thank you

thank you for posting results, for some reason the mens team results are a dead link on this computer
Good thing the Gophers don't have a football team this year. That probably helped them
