I\'m no longer surprised by the depths of this guy\'s ignorance.
I'm not black like Barry White, no I'm white like Frank Black is.

There is a specific reason that she did not test positive in that interval and it is because of the use of a drug that was designed to breakdown under the testing process. Are there other, similar drugs out there? Maybe, but probably not as effective and hence providing less advantage. Do drugs help (at the level that they can be taken), probably, but the assistance varies and tends to be greater for women than for men.
has, is, and always been. just as effective and more.

wasn't roger black, indeed black? either way, you have some major bottled up issues with race, dude.
WRONG and WRONG.
http://www.britisholympians.com/images/bo/athletes/RogerBlack%20-use.JPG(you've heard of google, right?)
I have no issues with race. I have issues racISTS, ie, with people who truly think that the only reason 99% of the men's running WR's and about 90% of the top 10 times in running events are held by black men is because all the black sprinters are on roids and all the black distance runners are on EPO. That is my problem. Sure, I should not have taken it out on the other poster I responded to (who didn't insinuate that at al....., but I still thought the fact that he found it extremely interesting thatt Roger Black thought MJ was a cheater was kinda weird...what's so interesting about that?). But it does aggravate me when, as I said, on those "what would the WR's be if no PED's existed?" thread one often sees times listed such as : 10.0x (something some white runners have done), or 27:15-20 (again, something white runners have done), or maybe 2:07 in the marathon (once again, you guessed it.....something whitey has achieved). This is annoying, because these racists are trying to use the fact that there are a lot of PED's in sports to diminish the REAL accomplishments and REAL dominance of many great black runners.
It does seem, from reading the posts at lets.run that many runners are jealous of anyone faster.
I recall that many accused Babe Ruth of doping. He was taking the new invention, vitamins. They said that was why he could hit so many home runs.
If you read this website's stats, most of the posters are young, white men. With some exceptions, young white men do not yet have the perspective of discrimination in their experience.
They will look at every other alternative before they believe someone would use race in evaluating them. They may never finally discover discrimination and know it for what it is. Some will, of course.
However, people other than young white men, do know that race, and gender, do matter, everyday. It is the exception when it does not.
I wonder if the cure has become worse than the disease.
What if no one tested for drugs anymore?
If someone wanted to sacrifice their life, as many young white men have done and do in the sake of other sports (steroids in high school American football), possibly we should recognize that sacrifice, and appreciate it for what it is.
Maybe it is time to run without testing, and let the chips, records, and bodies fall where they may.

Yes you did. I am simply pointing out your hearsay (I don't think you meant "heresy" unless we're getting all religious now) for the empty waste of breath it is.
Am I slamming you? Yes I guess I am. Sorry but remarks like that are 100% pure crap and you should know better. Mostly I am slamming the practice. Enough people repeat the pure crap and it takes on a life of its own. Then somewhere down the line something thinks its true just because a number of people repeated it.
Everyone has a filter for bullshit. Next time your acquaintance talks to you, I hope you will turn yours on.

Gerry, Mike never left his wife and kids.. I'll give him that. I still think he took drugs...,,

You mean it is a common rumor as it is with just about any athlete.
I remember talking to a very good female American distance runner who asked me what I thought Deena was on. My answer is that "I do not make such speculations about people". Her thought was that no one could be breaking her records or running that fast without doping.
My thought has been "So I guess if people accused you of doping you would understand since you (she) had run faster than most Americans". (Lost a lot of respect for this athlete .

Maybe..this female runner might have had a much better idea of what goes on among her peers than you do. Maybe you should have learned from her.

I disagree with your opinion.
The original topic was about MJ's cleanliness in the sport of sprinting.
NO ONE has mentioned this...thusly...
MJ- in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics- remember? anyone?- lost 19 pounds in a week DURING the games and BLAMED bad meat.
Bad meat!!!
ANYone remember that???
And- in 1996- NBC told the sad story of a clean American athlete- MJ- who sadly tanked four years earlier due to 'bad meat.'
Case CLOSED.
Cheat.

Are you "The" Gerry Lindgren that beat Steve Prefontaine in the NCAA Championship? Wow!
I heard Michael Johnson had a heart attack a few years back, but checked in to a hospital under an assumed name. The person who told me this is in the know. They said the heart attack was drug related. This was before he was in the UK.

Right. Right. Like BALCO never happened. Like you can test for HGH or insulin. Or test+epitest. Or they had a test for EPO while you were around, nevermind tested sprinters for EPO.
Why do you post as if you know anything on the topic?
You obviously don't.
All athletes are tested for the same panel of substances. There isn't a special sprinters' test, dolt.
