somehow I don't believe you
Results will be posted on spirafootwear.com this afternoon.
That's 26:01 on a downhill course wearing shoes with springs (Spiras), which are banned.
Kimaiyo has run a 2:11 this year.
are not banned.
the shoes have not been banned, the IAAF says they are still testing the shoes.
Who cares. Spira is not a serious running shoe company and their product is quite crappy. If you don't believe me, go to your local pedorthic account and try them on... Wal-Mart quality.
you tell me if you can run a 10k in "walmart" shoes and I will pay you $12000.

geb could run sub-26 on that course in pro wings...
Dave Monti raised the question of the course's certification - it doesn't appear on the USATF database, nor does it appear to be in the "pending" file. The TX state certifiers have been contacted to try to clarify the issue.

there was a study that was commented on in an article on msnbc.com or fox news, cant recall which, within the last couple days. they did a study of running shoes and found very little diff in quality b/t no name brands and big name shoes. it also found very little diff in quality based on price.
if i can find it again i will post a link.
