Josh Mcdougal 22:56!!!!!!

Rupp is not running, it's irrelevant, McDougal is the man to beat.

I do not think Rupp will be at the top of his game come November. His objective should be to run in the top group -- it will not matter particularly for the team race if he is 1st, 5th or 8th.

is mcdougal the first college go to go sub-23 in LONG while? ever?

McDougal seems to be running a smarter season. Only 2 races so far - wins Notre Dame comfortably, them hammers pre-nats againt one of his toughest competitors for the NCAA crown. He's not burning himself out on small meets.

Where's the love for McDougal? After watching Flocast, that was as easy a 22:56 as I've ever seen in cross, not that I've ever seen too many 22:56's. Josh did not not put out a lot of effort until kicking in the last 200. He seems to be training and pacing himself better than in past years, even though Lopez will be a monster to deal with at the end of a race with his 1:45 speed.

beastly run, but I seem to remember him always running real well at pre-nats. 22:56 is what, 4:36 miles?

Based on McDougal's track record, I'd say he's peaking right now.

He was injured most of last track season and stronger now. I look for him to take the lead for good at 5.5 miles at Nats. He trained through pre nats which is why he had no kick.

this may be true of the mcdougal of past years, but i think you will all be surprised at the end of the year when josh kills ncaas. the josh mcdougal of '07-'08 is a completely different animal
