Brad Hauser in Concord?

Nike will be dropping Brad at the first available opportunity. He has not run anything respectable in quite some time. Although he is not alone in that department. Look for some MAJOR changes in the structure of The Farm Team after the Olympics.

Brad broke 28 minutes for a 10K last year. He also ran his first marathon (2:14) in the fall.

If Nike drops Hauser, I guess that means they should drop Webb since he hasn't run fast in a while.

1. as an olympian his senior year in college to not having an Olympic A standard in any event is not the kind of improvement that was expected. Nike will drop him at the end of his contract.

2. You are right--however, Webb was signed through 2008, so if things don't improve for Webb, Nike will definitly drop him as well.

I hope you are wrong. FT is a Great thing in a great training area. Why can't people understand that you can't always have instant success. If I were 25 again, I would beg to be a part of the FT. I prefer the Hansons training ideas, but you can't beat that Palo Alto for training climate. I hate cold.

I hear you Too Old to matter but the philosophy is all geared to the here and now. It's like they don't get that you need to build up to success. They took what was incredibly promising and instead of proceding to the next logical step insane predictions were made which ultimately has hurt the team. I really don't see a 3:31 coming or a whole slew of the women running 1:57 - it would be great if it did but I don't think the philosophy will allow it. I think the club will sink on the old 3:31 prediction.

His agent is probably KIM - their USA office is based in Concord, MA and they (Tom Ratcliffe) probably entered him in the race.

I agree. He is still under a Nike contract, but I also believe that he will be dropped at the end of the contract.

Is his recent decline due to his marathon training? I've been told that once you do all that mileage your speed disappears.

Tell that to Rod DeHaven (who PRd in the 10000 after running a fall marathon) or Paula Radcliffe who has run much better on the track since she started her marathon career...

If that were true, there would be a major PR announcement. Nike is all about marketting. Why have we not heard about this?

Are you serious? Sorry I can't believe that until I see a press release or something on the FT website. Then again they haven't updated that thing since March so I'm waiting for the big announcement complete with predictions of 3:25 and 1:42.
