New study to be Posted in the JAMA (Journal of American Medicine) States that (summerization) Cramps induced during heavy exercise are caused by microscopic bacteria commonly found in The stalks of the wheat plant. An over indulgence in wheat or grain based products (Carbo loading) can cause a large amount of this bacteria to build up in muscle tissue or most commonly in the intestine area. Thus causing the pain associated with "side stitches" or cramps.
A fellow research scientist and friend of mine has verified these research results and says the study is going to dramatically affect the way we view exercise nutrition and treatment for cramps. This study will be published in the October issue of the JAMA.
This news is too exciting to not start discussing.
