What would you think if I sang out of tune?
All rest since the Birkie. Mother Nature delivered on the weatherman's promise. Last night and this early AM we got 10" of heavy wet snow. Let the games begin.

today
With my buddy Robert in Solari park, 7am, 50 minutes of conversation while running, watched the city come alive, one runner, schoolchild, cycling commuter at a time...runners are always first up...
Got out the door at 7.20 this mornin. Temp-1F. Ran out the drive and down the road a few hundred yds. Then wussed out and turned back. I'm not ready for this yet. Hit the basement spin trainer for an easy 15 minutes to fill out the workout.
Ran a hard 10k today, in 65 minutes. Quite proud over it. What you guys think? Bushman?
I dont know what to think of your hard 10K pride.
If hard makes you proud, cherish it.
today
2hours kids athletics, very mobile, very sunny, then 4x200m strides, just to feel legs and feet, rock and roll...
yesterday and day before
sick day. ate something that just did not agree with my intestines.
Way to turn back Bushman. True Outdoor Man: knows when it's time to stay in.
lingering soreness after Tuesday's excursion....on Thurs decided to call the chiro and see about the value of a Graston session....made the call and learned the office phone had been disconnected....went by the office on Friday but it was locked up....no information posted, so I'm not certain what the situation is....anyway there's another chiro with Graston knowledge across town, so I guess I'll call her next week....hopefully she can get me back to a pain free routine....
today
10k easy along the Tiber river with my buddy luca. Spring like temps, lots of runners tuning up for rome marathon in 2 weeks...
I was joking. You support someone being such a wuss?
I'm still ashamed.
Bushman,
when i lived in Montreal i'd go running up mount royal with -13 Fahrenheit with wcf up to -40.
Wussness like other conditions, could be dependant on your ability and time available to adapt. Either way, it's relative.
Could not tell if you were joking or not. In fact i was somewhat in doubt if it was really you, because "Bushman" originally said he would be back in April.
And it is really not like Bushman not to go out in typical winter conditions for his area.
In anycase, you dont read like Bushman. So maybe somebody should check if you are.
But to answer your question: the issue is not about supporting wusses, but about educating them.
We can call you Real Outdoors Man if you like.
today
travel day, no sleep, no run
Don't worry, this has always been a password protected username, nobody can take that away from me. I just like to be called out for what I actually are, feels much better to get compliments later, you'll now they are true:)
...could be,
but it still doesnt sound like Bushman...Bushman syntax was more refined and complex than your skimpy two lines.
But who/what/ever you are, you are more than welcome to hang out, STS, and evidently, describe your daily running...
Why do this thread keeps getting pushed far back in the forum? While others with barely no posts the last week still are high up?
because it is like a sociological experiment: interesting but not a priority.
today:
swamped with work. not even close to running exceept to the restaurant tonight, not to be late.
saw the new chiro on Tues. and she worked me over Graston style....best news was that she ordered me to go for a short run on Wed....went for 30' with reduced stiffness and a narrowing of the affected area....promising.....back to the chiro today for another session....hoping for more running tomorrow....
during yesterday's chiro visit, she encouraged me to keep running while undergoing the Graston treatments....so I popped out for 40'-ish when I got home....a strong headwind on the out, but temps were unseasonably warm....shortly realized that, even with the wind in my face, my pace was markedly faster than it had been in awhile....still some soreness in a small area, but I am optimistic that the treatments are having the desired effect....on the road this weekend, but will try to sneak something in...
Been out for neary 3 years with pf which is finally improving
Been doing couple of jogs per week for 2 months
Another coach turned up last night so he took session & I did hill reps 7 x 370m. After trying to push it a bit on the 6th was nearly walking on the last one!
Before if I had 6 months off with injury I could always run 5 miles reasonably. Now I am struggling to jog 3 miles! Just shows the effects of training and piling on the weight.
but hey coach, you are running...
yesterday:
ski day with family
before yesterday
crazy work day....
today:
1 hr in the mountains
30 mins uphill
30 mins downhill
as people were skiing, on the edge where the snow was melting and some really nice packed snow. Wonder what packed-snow record for olympic distances would be like...
actually snuck in 40'- ish on Friday after my last post....still some soreness, but at least I'm running....driving much of Sat, so used that as a rest day....almost 45' on Sun....not fast, but felt good....reduced soreness in the subsequent 24 hrs....bumped it up to 50' today....nice weather....some localized soreness, bit still optimistic.....back to the chiro tomorrow for another treatment...
50+' on both Wed & Thurs....best week since mid-Aug....discomfort on outer heel has disappeared....fingers crossed....still some tightness on the back of the Ache-illes....the Graston sessions have been huge....had another today, then down to 1 next week....hoping for another 50' tomorrow which will get me to a 52-week high...
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
