That is a very selective analysis on your part, why dont you include analysis of the time Kipchoge re-accelarates and cannot keep on because Lagat is closing the path of Kipchoge - is that legal or contrary to the IAAF rules.

the fact is, between 200 to go and 100 to go, Lagat BLEW past everyone else, AND ON THE OUTSIDE TOO! Lagat is amazingly fast and has incredible stamina. even if he's guilty of cutting Kipchoge off, he still deserves the win, because he is of a higher caliber.
