The best bandaid I have found for blisters is something called "Advanced Healing Bandages" (something like that) by Johnson & Johnson. They come in a silver colored package and they cost more but they are worth it.
They have this stuff on the bandage called "Gueri" that actually bonds to the wound (or, in this case, open blister) and forms a second skin on it for you. They're designed to be worn for several days.
Right now I've got a terrible blister (the worst one I've ever had in 20 years of running) on my foot from a recent race and these things are the only thing allowing me to run.
I've never tried "Second Skin" though so I have no basis for comparison.
