Dunes Runner
You have put history of poor and illogical threads together here on the letsrun.com message board. This one is perhaps the best however. First off, trying to extrapolate an improvement curve from sprint events to distance events is ridiculous. They use two different energy systems and aren't comparable. Thus, the differences between times. Secondly, I think that it is very convenient that you abandon your previous argument after Trainspotting shoots it down. Then you come up with this ridiculous conspiracy theory about US drug companies influencing international track policy to make american runners look good. As far as I'm concerned you're credability sucks. Thirdly, drugs do work, there are volumes of scientific and medical studies that show their effectiveness. Here is why EPO works, EPO is a naturally occuring hormone released by the kidney's. This hormone increases red blood cell(RBC's) output into the blood plasma. Increased EPO = Increased RBC count. More RBC's would be advantageous to a runner for a couple of reasons: 1. It would increase o2 intake. 2. It would increase Co2 ouput (I.E. carry Co2 out of your body at a higher rate). 3. It will increase you body's ability to buffer acids (I.E. your body handles lactic acid better). All of the above is the short answer to why you are a retard.
