to be fair to Mr Kool, this can't be him. The OP is too eloquent and not threatening enough
Ouko is retarded.
He says he doesn't expect Merrit to run 43.5 in '07. Well, he'll have to if he's gonna beat JW in Osaka.
Going thru the rounds favors Wariner even more with his strength-based approach to training.
Here is some f*ucking clarification...
Pound for Pound means, the best fighter out of all categories in boxing. There is something called Pound for Pound rankings, and at the moment it is Floyd Mayweather who was ranked number 1. He is basically the best boxer in the world, running the game. The pound for pound all-time rankings Floyd Mayweather may not even be in the Top-20.
http://boxing.about.com/cs/rankingschampions/a/top_fifty.htm
The undisputed Champion means that you are the best in those weight categories, because you have unified all the major Belts. So for example Maurice Greene was undisputed 100m champion, because he unified World, Olympic, World Record’s all the major titles, he held all titles at one point in his career.
But I never gave Maurice Greene the pound for pound title.
So when I said that I think Jeremy Wariner is the best pound for pound athlete of this new generation. I am very serious and there is no smile on my face. Maurice Greene in my rankings was never pound for pound recognized as the greatest athlete in sport, because of a certain man.
That man was Michael Johnson.
The last 100m champion to be recognized by everybody, as the pound for pound best athlete in the world was Carl Lewis. Carl Lewis for the best part of a decade for 10 years was the greatest athlete in the world, the biggest b*astard, one of the bad men.
Changed the game, ran the game, you can f*ucking sit there and name it Bryn.
Sit down and f*ucking name what Carl Lewis has did.
This new generation.
It was ignited in 2004, it was set alight. And It was a pivotal moment, a time of change. Old sprinters fire’s that had been flickering violently for the past few years where finally put out or Burnt out! Just like back in 1996 Atlanta Olympics, it marked the end of an era.
The Carl Lewis/Linford Christie era.
This new generation is very young, 2-3 years old, it’s only a baby.
Now that Justin Gatlin is serving a ban. He was the last pound for pound champion. But now I give the pound for pound title to Jeremy Wariner.
Olympic Title's and World Title's back to back. Put all this together with the dominance, and performances of this man, you have the pound for pound champion. He is closely followed by Asafa Powell, this man needs no introduction.
Craig Mottram and any other characters in this sport mean sh*t to them. If Asafa Powell told Craig Mottram to jump, the only question that Craig Mottram should ask is...
“How high Asafa?"
Totally different level.
Only the athletes can affect or change my way of thinking. So there is no point in disagreeing with me.
Basically what you're saying is that Merritt could win it which I don't think anyone would disagree with. Basically it will take a less than stellar race from Wariner for him to win.
Could win it? Sure.
Will win it? Doubt it.
Well, Letsrun.com really dissapointed me today. First they put up a quote from someone who obviously hasn't paid any attention to the 1500m season that has been playing out all year this year, which means they gave a voice and attention to someone with no credibility.
Then they linked a post to "MR KOOL" (from trackshark.com) and his BS. What he actually says can come off as impressive at times, but only if you don't know his full deal. He basically copy and pasted a post he did on trackshark months ago about Merrit, there is nothing new in this post. As a matter of fact, its pretty strange that he would put up such a post after all that has happened since his original prediction of Merrit winning the 400m Dash at worlds. He didn't change much of anything, which isn't insightful at all. Since then MR KOOL has kind of "cooled off" on his prediction, though he still claims to stand by it, but since everyone thinks he's mostly a joke at trackshark he has decided to come here. So letsrun, you dissapointed me big time today, you gave two people with no real credibility a voice on your page. It knocks your website down a few notches for me, which sucks.
What does any of this have to do with your ridiculous assertion that Merritt can beat Wariner?
Look, your argument is akin to saying that if Kenenisa Bekele runs close to his world record PR, then Craig Mottram has a chance of winning the 5k. It just doesn't follow logic. The bottom line is this: if Wariner runs close to or better than his PR (which he will), then Merritt has no chance. It's that simple.
your starting to annoy me, you keep mentioning me, whenever Jeremy Wariner runs. I find you irritating, every single post with the gay yellow similies. I don’t like you, so stop talking about me.
Jeremy Wariner in my mind is the best pound for pound athlete of this new generation, he has just run 43.5xx. But listen the 400m is not the 100m, 43.5’s are not the kind of times that get repeated week in week out. No 400m sprinters are really that consistent, there times tend to drop all over the clock.
Michael Johnson was consistent, but consistency in the 400m doesn’t mean, running 43.5xx every time out. If Jeremy Wariner runs 43.9xx, in his next race, or in a world championship final. That is consistent 400m sprinting. Nothing is for certain here, I am doubting Jeremy Wariner. And people are right to say that’s not the smartest thing to do, history tells me its smartest thing to do.
But here’s where Lashawn Meritt comes into this f*ucking equation. In most recent years, if Jeremy Wariner ran sub 44, that’s basically won the race. But the difference is this year, I don’t think it’s that simple anymore, Because Lashawn Merritt might just want to run sub-44sec.
And for that simple reason, that there is somebody just that little bit closer, in striking distance.
Jeremy Wariner can be beaten, and I am betting man.
So I will bet on the underdog. Last time they raced anyway, Jeremy Wariner wasn’t that far ahead.
His name is Lashawn Merritt.
Go and seek asylum in another country.
Predications happen all the time. Some people get it right, some get it wrong. That’s what people do in these places, debate athletics. Most of my predications are ludracris, but theoretically could happen. Lashawn Merritt is great 400m sprinter, he is threat, it is possible that he could beat Jeremy Wariner. And I have made a debate out of it, and talking point, put some information together. “I meant to write that it is not the smartest thing to do. Doubting Jeremy Wariner and history shows that”
If you want to cry about it, go ahead.
last 50 meters, hasta la vista LA SHAWN baby.
ouko/mr cool is a stupid piece of shit

(1) Yeah, and theoretically I could win the 400m too... if everybody fell down and broke their legs during the race. I mean, theoretically its possible, right? Look, anybody competing in the 400m could upset Wariner... theoretically. But its not likely, is it?
(2) Why haven't you mentioned Taylor, who has actually run faster than Merritt this year? I mean, surely if Merritt could upset Wariner, Taylor could also, right? What is this obsession of yours with Merritt?
Give it a rest, buddy. And if you could manage to get off Merritt's nuts for a while, that would be great too.
"last 50 meters, hasta la vista LA SHAWN baby."
He'd have to turn around and shout back to LaShawn, wouldn't want to see him trip and fall, don't do it Jeremy.
Bring it.
..on the internet is like the special olympics...
nice.
Great topic, great discussion, great points. It won't matter Jeremy Wariner is in Michael Johnson mode. The guy is not going to lose, especially when the money is on the line. As long as he is healthy and fit no one touches him. Several different things have to happen for him to lose. IF he got beat, just as if Michael Johnson got beat once ever few years, does that make him not still clearly the best in the world? Does that not make him extremely dominate? El G lost in an Olympic Final and in a WC final. He is still the best ever. This kid is very young, and after next year he will likely have 2 WC golds and 2 Oly golds. Take a second to let that soak in. How old is the kid going to be next year? IF the guy only does that and never runs faster than 43.2 or 43.3 he still has a very valid arguement as the best 400m runner ever.
Does anyone else think that Ouko should write in all caps, to emphasize the point that he's shouting absolutely everything he says?
This "nothing you can say can change my mind" line is great--it makes it sound like he went on an internet discussion forum, made a post, and then got offended that people responded to him.
The "pound for pound" and "undisputed" champion stuff is just about as annoying; it's the track equivalent of the classic nerd dispute, "who would win--Superman or the Flash".
Also, the rambling, disjointed sentences and confusing grammatical structure obscure a point that could be reasonably compelling: Merritt (he spells his name with two t's, so the rest of us probably should, too) might have the best chance of beating Wariner in Osaka, because he has better top-end speed and could have put together the speed endurance to complement it.
The session maker doesnt agree with some of thte sessions that merritt has been performing..after all i am the session maker and i made every single session you people have sessioned.
