A doctor is diagnosing me w/ a labral tear in my hip. It has taken awhile for a doctor to do so as it's been 'clicking' around in there for a couple years I would guess.
I've had other issues w/ my back and tight hamstrings so it's not like doctors have been focusing on this area all along although I would point it out to them.
Is surgery worth it? How long does it take for the cartilage to become ruined? Is two years a pretty safe bet that everything is messed up adn i'll probably eventually have to have a replacement? I've been running w/ this injury off and on over the past couple years.
Should an MRI be able to determine how much cartilage damage there is or can they only determine that after they slice you open?
I will be discussing these issues w/ my doctor but would like others input from the board that have went through this.
Thanks!
