They should put this guy where he belongs, in a circus.

HES WALKING, HES F***ING WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great, all of you are like the people who can't stand Howard Stern but listen to the show every day...he is laughing all the way to the bank!
With six 7 minute miles towards the end, he can knock a ton of time off. That's what I would do.
Come on Dean! Put the HAMMER DOWN!!!
He should have called Brandon Moen for some advice.
Hell, Pirate/Cat/Gun girl could have come by to cheer him on.
He would also probably have a new 5k PR.
So, I guess we can conclude that Accelerade does not work. How else to explain why he's crashing?

[as I wipe Diet Coke off my monitor]
Larry Rawson: Judging by leg turn-over he's on pace to run 154.8518 miles.
Taters Prescious: I went down to my high school track and ran around it at that pace. It was easy.
these two posts deserve some love...
Look at him go, he's like an Ford Explorer with a 4-cylinder engine.
hey he's taking a pee break right now in that blue tent!! hahahahaha
If Dean wants the record he going to have run faster than the guy who currently has the record.
Carol
You know what? I think he really wants that record, although he is running like an injured locust right now.

No you wouldn't, pussy.
Right. And you wouldn't ever poke me in the chest if you were actually standing right in front of me instead of talking on a message board. That I would bet the house on (insert 5th grade put-down here).
Ask someone in your office who Alan Culpepper or Abdi is or even Alan Webb and you'll get a befuddled look, but I bet they know who Deano is!
Ask a house mom who doesn't even watch basketball who the best big man in the NBA is...she'll say a past his prime old ass Shaq. It's all about perception.
The media makes him out to be "America's Best Runner" because no one else is doing 50 marathons in 50 days or running for 24 hours in Times Square. Althought Chuck Engle was running a marathon in about 2:30-40 each weekend for I don't know how long...but of course the masses didn't know about it. People ask me all the time "how far did you run today" not "how fast did you run today". Regular people think about the distance you run not the speed. If you tell Grandma that so and so ran 8:11 for 2 miles she'll say..well that's not that far. People have no concept of speed. That takes too much to grasp. Too much math. Distance is easy to grasp. People know how far 100 miles is. They don't know how fast a 28:00 10k is.

To "Excuse Me":
You made some good points. I just responded hastily on this thread because people are having such alarmist reactions to something that is really not worth bitching about.
AND.......
Please stop calling me "toots" and "hon". It's condescending and it proves my point that you are arrogant.
...and this thread has 200+ posts...so Dean wins!
Alan
...and no where on the monitor does is say he's shooting for any sort of record...only on the website. The schmoes in Times Square don't care.

I wouldn't screw around and say I'd do something that I know I wouldn't. I would do it if you had said that to my face the way you put it in your post. I guess you're saying that you wouldn't have the nads to say that to me in person.
I'd believe it.
Insert your own immature put-down, you led off so well with that in the first place, genius.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
