Chanelle Price has been around for several years and have posted sub 2:10 since emerging in High School. The Junior stepped it up big time today, leaping into the Top 5 of the all-time High School girl's list (with one more year of high school). Can't wait to see what she does at the World Youth Games in a few weeks against the Chinese, Kenyans, Japanese, and Ethiopians.

She should turn pro!

She ends up #13 on the all-time Am. Junior list. Her DOB is 8/22/90 so she has two more outdoor seasons to go for the AJ record. Good Luck!!

What happened to Gallagher?
-
She died.
-
Kim Gallagher after high school record(s) went on to win a Bronze and a Silver Medal in the Olympics at 800m and also posted a best of 1:56.90. She died before her 40th birthday of lung cancer and should go down in the USA Track and Field Hall of Fame.
...
Chanelle Price's 2:02.76 maybe number 13th on the all-time Junior List but she is number 4 on the High School list (and have one year left in HIGH SCHOOL). AMAZING! -
Why is high schooler Chanelle Price competing in the USA Track and Field Championships/USA World Trials and also the World Youth Games? That's alot of traveling and competing. What if she make the team in both?

Just checked out the video the girl is insane and sub 2:00 isn't out of the question this year for the Chanelle Price. I agree with Wejo and Vipam its scary she is only a junior in High School.

Crystal Washington (Fl) Jr in high school drops her personal best from 2:10 to 2:05.8 in winning her heat in a tactical race.

Damn, I didn't realize she was still at 1:28 at 600 meters. That last 200 meters was a little rough, but hopefully in a race where she's not doing all the work she'll be able to go out that hard and have a stronger finish.
-
I didn't think I would ever being saying/thinking this; however, Chanelle Price is capable of breaking Kim Gallagher's 800m HSR 2:00.07. She has to get in the right paced race and conditions but she is capable this year. I do believe that her best chance maybe next year- if she remains totally healthy and get in great training for the next full year!
-
bump
-
I don't even think she will need pacing help. At the rate she is progressing and after she ran 2:06xx ALONE to win the PA indoor state title this winter I am convinced that next year with a little more strength she could do it herself.

That race really didn't need flocasts announcing . . . they were quieter than the race announcer there, and he was doing fine job. -
She ran 2:04.xx indoors.
-
She also has run 4:50 for the mile indoors, so she isn't just a pure 800m runner. I was impressed by so many of the performances at NON but Chanelle Price run was in my opinion the most exciting!
-
If Chanelle breaks Kim Gallagher's 2:00.07 at the USA Championships will it count as a high school record- since it will still be in June?
-
I don't know but I hope so. I'm looking forward to seeing her line up against the all the USA best female 800m this week and later with her against the best in the World Youth Games!

Kim Gallagher died of stomach cancer, not lung cancer...a very very long battle with it, too.
