Good point. Although I kinda struck Uta from my list of great Boston performances after the doping thing.

I'm fairly sure Shea and Mortimer are BAA runners (I trained with the BAA back in Nov-December before I decided to concentrate on track) and Mortimer is the BC coach I believe....that's all I know about those guys...when I was at the finish I recognized a few guys that trained at Reggie Lewis on tuesdays and thursdays and who killed me in an invite 10,000

No Kenyan has ever won the Olympic marathon; my bet is that doesn't change next year.
Tergat will.
This would my team for the Olympics marathon.
1. Paul Tergat
2. Martin Lel
3. Robert Cheruiyot
4. Felix Limo
No one would touch this. No one.

True, so I'll switch my comment to:
Gaylord Query, not impressed.

There weren't too many under 2:40 this year. Fastest Canadian was a buddy - Rami Bardeesy - at 2:33. He ran 2:33 last fall at Chicago, on a much better day. Of note, unless I'm mistaken he still hasn't broken 1:15 for the half. He's 130 pound of slow twitch muscle fibre, with long hair and a red bandana. Rami if you're reading this, well done buddy.
Second Canadian, also at 2:33, was a solid, consistent master, Louis Phillipe Garnier. After that, I didn't recognize too many names.
CNBC reported that the master's winner was wearing them. Will he be DQ'ed. Apparently, someone has to ask for them to inspect his shoes before they would DQ. Frankly, how they'll know what shoes he was wearing once he's taken them off if someone complains 3 days later is beyond me.

Spira : their shoes are illegal. I'd much rather see the sport adopt a Tour de France style. Give cash to leaders at certain points, up certain hills, etc. Plaster jerseys with lots of ads.
Alan
would somebody please enlighten me on how a pair of running shoes could be illegal? They aren't motorized, the person still has to run and the shoes don't run, the runner, runs....I don't get it.

Why does Kenya get four spots in the Olympic marathon?

Change that to Catherina Mckiernan. She was not a pretty sight (or smell) when she won London Marathon.
Wasn't this same uninformed question posed regarding Ed Torres and Jason Hartmann at Chicago as it related to Ritz at NYC? Ritz clearly wasn't lacking for confidence. Neither was Hall. Even if we who needed no convincing that the question was nonsensical each time it was asked could not convince you, are you convinced NOW?

Ok, dumbass. If you were following the same training as someone else and they raced a week before you and flopped completely, you wouldn't doubt your training at all?
Did I say anything about "clearly means Hall is behind in his training?" I asked if you think he's doubting his training. It doesn't mean he won't have a good debut, but my guess is he has a little less confidence than if Deena had gone out and won easily today.
