I apologize for hyping the place on here for years and actually getting everyone to move there and train. Talking with Abdi in Boulder, he joked he didn't like it as much because you actually run into people on runs.
I heard of big groups meeting at Buffalo Park for workouts. That's not supposed to happen. People actually going to NAU and working now? Not really supposed to happen unlesss you're on the NAU team.
Maybe it's just like Boulder now minus the creek path and all the money.
If I moved back, as long as I could stick to the trails and go to Camp Verde to workout by myself I think it still might have its cachet.
The day I go to Camp Verde and see someone else working out on the dirt track however might be the day Flagstaff truly arrives.
I'm still contemplating what to tell the next Bekele if I get a call asking about the place. "It's Boulder, minus the money, with more snow." Factual statement and it might keep them from going there. Or perhaps "Paula Radcliffe was there and left to go back to Albuquerque" Factual as well.
