What a good race- I'm surprised ESPN let us see so much.

it's a live broadcast with nothing of interest in the meet beforehand that could be taped for later viewing. when such situations arise, it results in those rare occasions where we see large amounts of distance events.
Props to American in the 4x800...the announcers couldn't stop talking about Oregon, Georgetown and Nova, but in the end it was some smart running by AU to take the title. Of course Centro didn't give them their relay roster, but still, the way they were talking it seemed like there was no way Tully could've lost. Great job Eagles!
I'm glad they showed part of it and I guess I should be happy...but I'm not. They need to stop showing the interviews/having commercials during the race. The races are under 8 minutes. They can go without a commercial for that long. At least with the interviews have a split screen.
Really I'm just bitter because one of my friends ran the second leg in the 4x8 and they didn't show it...
The arrogant folks at ESPN2 didn't bother to get the AU lineup. Only Villanova, Georgetown and Oregon had a chance. Great job American U.
Oh yeah, what the heck happened to Oregans teams, they came back from the commerical and they weren't on the track. Plus Sarah Hall is holding on strong!
it was rather tough to judge american's chances when you had no idea who they had running. they gave centro plenty of props during the race.
Oregan's team*
actually they said that Centrowitz didnt get it to them, they were still waiting.
finishing order and approximate times?
They just said look at the gap she put on Sarah Hall, but they won't zoom out to show her...WTF!

Or Oregon....
They need to get somebody in the booth who still pays attention to collegiate track. Let's face it, Villanova is not what they used to be and it was a little strange to hear the announcers predicting victory because O'Sullivan's racers "always have a big kick." Then they went on and on about Georgetown's depth because they have like five sub 4:10 milers. Well so do a half dozen other teams - this isn't the 90s anymore. 4:10 is certainly an impressive time but it's not even a provisional qualifier and I don't think Rawson is really aware of that.

Good call. I'm an idiot.
so seven teams out of the 100+ D1 programs have 5 sub 4:10 milers? i'd call that impressive depth.
at any rate, you're asking guys commentating for this meet to be well versed in high school, college, and pro athletes. and we're not even talking about particularly great college athletes.
Thanks, chuck d. Good to know the Big Red acquitted themselves honorably. Did Wyner run?
damn....just realized it was on....@#$#@$#@ what distance events have I missed? the are on the womens 60m hurdles now
I'd like to see American and Villanova race again. It definitely could have went either way.
