This guy is in 27:20 shape right now. Why should he focus on a spring marathon? He's already in the trials.
He could run World Cross. 3000's and 1500's and a 5000 at Stanford or Pre. Run the 10,000 at Natioanals. And focus on track this year and a killer 10k in Europe.
August he can start his Marathon prep. Rather than get wiped at Boston and have to recover and start over in June.
He is 24 years old. And he's making good money.
Everybody wants to see him jump to the marathon. I'd rather see him run a fresh 10,000 against the best in the world sharp enough to run 7:32-36 in the 3000 first.
A fall marathon makes sense. After crushing his pr's on the track first and then a short marathon buildup.
