Well....both happened to me.
I got sponsored by a shoe store prior to a World Record attempt. I was given a pair of racing flats and some shorts.
Unfortunetely I didnt get any money.
After the attempt, I got dumped.
Oh well at least I have a future in modeling and think I can make some bucks there.
Josh Moen attempted a World Record and now has a modeling contract? Huh?
Josh does not have any World Records, but is a part of the National Record for the Ekiden.
Don't Know, Don't Care
Saucony: Gabe Jennings, Ryan Shay, Jason Lemkuhle
Mizuno stated a few years ago that they were going to start sponsoring athletes. What ever happened to that? Do they actually sponsor any top tier athletes?
yeah. F MIZUNO. From now on I only shop for shoes from companies that sponsor athletes!
this is brandon moen, who attempted to break the treadmill world record. he has a website and a previous thread; search for them.
Dan Hueling (third place steeple at USA's) signed with Reebok.
I wasn't saying F Mizuno. I was just wondering if they actually sponsored any athletes. Their shoes are actually some of the best shoes I have ever worn.
I see Ethiopians and Japanese in Mizuno gear all the time, what sport are you guys watching?

They sponsored some marathon trials runners from a few years ago. It was mostly product I believe, but they were definitely there.
I got sponsored by Duct Tape who is trying to start a new trend in minimalistic footwear.
Is there a way to get elite-training teams sponsored by companies that may have nothing to do with running? Like Oracle, Microsoft, US Postal Service, etc...
They do this all the time with Cycling teams right? Team Discovery has what, a $10+ million budget. And there are plenty of Cycling teams that have sponsors which have nothing to do with fitness or cycling.
Who would be willing to take a chance with a big budget?
kristin anderson who was the steeple chase runner up by .4 seconds signed with NIKE. she was a division II national champion for the university of central missouri.
i see it too
Victoria Jackson, NIKE
nate jenkins, saucony?
seen him decked out in their stuff at a few meets.

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
