why not take out everyone who ran faster than 4:30 mile or 9:40 2M from that list and see what you got. That is a better measure of whatever the f*** "bluecollar" is.
manzano is a us citizen.
ha ha ha great thread really enjoyed it...good for you Hitnthe wall!!!
I think we're confusing "blue collar" with "sucked." I was under the impression that "blue collar" was not so much a certain level of talent, but a method of approaching running.
In my mind a guy like Josh McDougal is the ultimate blue collar runner in the NCAA. The fact that he has talent is irrelivent, he runs 130 mile weeks in singles without teammates to push him and without the rediculous gear that larger schools provide. He runs hard at small meets because he doesn't have a great travel budget.
I'm about to go run 6 miles in -10 below. It doesn't matter if I'm a 4 flat guy or a 420 guy, the fact that I'm going to go freeze my balls off makes me blue collar. Stupid debate though.
I found the original list as laughable as the previuos critics. The criteria is outlandish, especially when trying to create the mystical and "letsrun-hip" group known as "Blue Collar Runners." Thus, in my endless hours at work, I looked up some of these guys who went from "rags to ritches" and we're so dramatically slower than their peers who ran at FL.

See, that time you did it correctly. You hit "reply to" for the person you were actually responding to, rather than the last post you happened to see on the page. Pretty easy, wasn't it?
dude
off of just hard work, you are retarded. number one everyone works hard it is just relative, second you are judging talent strickly off of footlocker which is one race in high school (brent vaughn 8:48, manzano 4:07, few others that you missed or failed to see as talented) you are going just off of names you have seen before on dyestat-which of course is the end all be all for recognizing talent, its just a popularity comtest between the few selective top runners. those guys in the NCAA race are definetly talented you just did not see it till the NCAA-god you near sighted

I have them straight. Basically all of these kids are white, and very few of them are truly from a working class background. Clear?
Jordan Kyle has a baby blue popped collar.....rumor is he got fit by making a bowflex out of human hair and bamboo. He also sleeps in a vat of boiling water, runs with broken glass in his shoes and for fun he wrestles deer with his hands tied behind his back. I heard he does three hours of core every night. Also, this is only a rumor, but i heard that he preset his workout room to 140 degrees fahrenheit and 100 percent humidity so that he has negative body fat....last but not least, chapman had IU build a 400m track with a pure mud surface for jordan to train on during the weeks leading up to NCAAs.
This is so Obscurred and Retarded Blue Collar, You all must Pop Your collars and wear Pink shirts too right? losers!
check out #46 JD Krawczyk from UCSB. He was a 9:54 two miler in high school he is definetely blue collar. The guy works and trains hard and is humble as hell.

Think again.

Not even half those kids are blue collar and more than half of them are extremely talented... the only guy you need to know about is Chris Nickinson... because he is a badass mother f***er.
KIEL UHL was a 9:06 2 miler in highschool. That is NOT blue collar.
As was he a 4:14 and 15:10 guy.
He dominated at nearly every race he started in HS- blue collar? Psh.
