Agreed. Like Andy Kaufman before him, we don't know if the430miler is a comic genius just pulling our leg, or if he's just wandering aimlessly through the barrens of cyber-space. With furtive glances over our shoulders, we nervously chuckle -- just in case.
this took two minutes to search, and was interesting to read...

such poetry . Call me old school, but I am partial to Malmo.
I am appauled at the lack of support Flagpole Willy has seen on this thread.

Why be appalled, the guy is a pompous know it all on everything. He doesn't bring anything to the table. The only thing mildly amusing is when he gets on a Jim Rome kick, even if it is very contrived.

Ah brother. I agree with you that I don't deserve to be Poster of the Year. Usually there is someone else who deserves it. This year I nominate Pete! Yes, Pete! Level-headed, good runner, very decent poster. Pete is it for me.
Now, for those who aren't sure but are considering voting for me, I'll just add this one piece of information which may or may not sway you -- I'm thinking of growing a soul patch.
Yeah! There! How do you like me now?!

anybody who has read any of the jack daniels books should know that jtupper is THE REAL jack daniels himself.
in the book it says in the forward/epilogue "written by Jack Tupper Daniels.
You get stupider with every post I read. Everyone here knows that it is Dr. Daniels you moron!
I'm glad to see someone else still remembers the utter gibberish of Sol. I referenced it recently with nary a reply. It would have to be a long-timer like you to get it, I guess, since this board turns over so quickly. Not like the t-and-f listserv, of which we seem to be but two of a dying number ...

Sol's been around a bit this year, just not enough.
Best poster for information: jtupper (especially on the Jim Ryun thread). Good info, but more than just percentages, good stories too (and written by someone who speaks English...)
Best for great entertainment: 430miler, with me and my watch a close second. It almost went to watch, but 430miler is just so much more versitile, he can chime in on any thread...watch has to create his own treads, although full marks for having so many threads that get pulled.
(hmmm...versitile....that can't be spelled right)

Why? We know the identity of the people behind the names JTupper, Malmo, and Hodgie-san, so why must "Tinman" remain shrouded in secrecy?

You're not ready for the truth.

you call what malmo just wrote "poetry" ?? Wow, as a society, I guess we've really lowered our standards to an all-time low.
(and it's easy to be a top poster on this board when you have the power to eliminate posts that put you in a bad light, or eliminate others' posts that put them in a good light. Right? Of course it is. )
I like that Chris Hall fellow. He has a lot of enthusiasm and what seems like maturity for his age. And no, I'm not some guy who knows him.

It's far too early to tell. He really hasn't been around here for very long yet, and frankly, he still needs to prove that he isn't the same gold-plated troll that he used to be on the DyeStat boards (much like the430miler).
Being ostracized by your peers on a message board that is primarily populated by teenagers is not a good sign...

I vote for Kilgore.
