College coaching. It?s all here: Lannana?s irreplaceable, Wetmore sucks, McDonnell is God, nobody else is worth talking about, blah, blah, blah. Is running really any different than any other sport at the university level? I?ve been away for years, but I figured it was about the same as when I was there. There are some really top coaches, a few people of questionable skills and sanity, and an overwhelming majority of pretty good, pretty knowledgeable people. Think about it: with college football, do you ever hear about how coaches X, Y, and Z are the only decent ones, and that going to a different program will ruin you for life and that you?ll never come remotely close to fulfilling your potential?
Isn?t all this carping about ?good? and ?bad? college coaching really just a bunch of internet blowhards prattling on about something of which they have no perspective?
