Could this weekends golden gala 5000m possibly be one of the strongest feilds ever! I mean look, its got Haile, Bekele and Mekkonen not to mention Chebii. Keep an eye out for Baumann, Limo, and Hissou too. Reminds me of the days when Haile was at his best against Komen, Tergat, Rotich, Lalafi and Mourit. Any time predictions.

Definate world record prospect. Imagine this though, Haile hits the front with 500m to go doing a repeat of world champs 1997, Chebii and Bekele fly by 350m out - Bekele poised to make his move on Chebii's shoulder, as they enter the home straight who else but non other than running god himself Haile blows the other two apart. 12.29.46, 12.29.50, 12.29.54. The world unites and ends war, and world famin.

That is enticing but not likely. This will certainly be a race to determine the best kicker EVER off a fast pace, Haile was famous for his finishes, so too now is Bekele, and correct me if im wrong that Chebii guy made Guerrouj his play thing in the final 200m a month back? Nervous moments at the end of this 5000m. Go Haile I say, the old champ is still running great. He's tried it all from indoor 15's to the marathon with great success. Easily in my eyes the greatest distance runner ever. GO HAILE!
