Exactly what I was thinking.
Simmons from VIC
I'm also going with Dick Hertz from Holden.
Well I don't know if Pat Tyson qualifies for this but it was his first season at Kentucky. But coached many years at Mead High School in Spokane and racked up a bunch of State Championships and well NTN has shown his recent success. Give him a couple years at Kentucky and I'm sure he'll be able to put something together.
vigilante...game over

I think Tyson is around 60 years old. I know what you mean but he's been around.
Simmons > Vig
Vig pwns all other n00bs.
VIG FTW. GAME OVER.
Simmons will never be recognized as a top level coach until he is coaching in D1. I do not believe his game will fly when he is forced to follow the rules. His only success has been with the renegades.
In the USA all you have to do is hitch yourself to that one magic athlete and you are considered a genious. Take a look at Vigil and the marathon. He has done a terrific job with Deena but that is about it. (Meb is a Larsen athlete) Someone once told me that Vigil has never coached a guy under 2:13? I couldn't come up with a name. That is pretty sad.
Scott Williamson at Nichols St. and Mike Nelson at Saint Louis U....they are the 2 youngest D1 head coaches in the country, and guess what??...they were both Emporia State GA's!!!
You're an idiot. They're talking about Jason Vigilante at Texas.
Joe Vigil's record (29 years at Adams State, many years coaching Pat Porter and then Deena Kastor) speaks for itself. You're the same troll that tries to diminish Vigil's accomplishments any time his name is mentioned on this board. Go back under your rock.
For the umpteenth time... Marco Ochoa. There's your sub 2:13 Vigil-coached male marathoner.
He ran 2:13:30. Over a minute slower than Cabada ran in his debut.
I don't know how anyone can say Vigil is overrated as a coach. The man has done as much for U.S. Distance running as any coach, ever. On top of this, he is a great guy who is willing to share his knowledge.
