Have they oficially named the marathon team? Is Meb going to be doubling back from the 10k? Where can I find the roster?

I know that Ryan Shay is on the team as he won the US Marathon Championship...I believe the others came from that race as well...Maybe Kevin Collins and I am not sure about the third...
Is the roster posted somewhere? Or does our governing body consistently continue to make us look like a lousy sport. How can we be fans if we don't even know who we are cheering for?
The FIVE member team is Ryan Shay, Kevin Collins, Clint Verran, Meb K., and Jimmy Hearld
Thank you Hansons for doing what are governing body is not capable of. USATF is ridiculous.
The entire Team USA list is on the USATF Web site. Link Below
Hey Hansons, can you help me with this one? Where is the roster for the PAN AM games? It is less than a month away.
Pan Am games is another story. I have still been trying to find out the actual date they will be running the marathon. The only part of the roster I am aware of is that Jeff Campbell and Chris Banks will be running the mens marathon.
If Jeff and Chris are reading this -- try to check in with Darrell General for tips about runnign a hot-weather marathon with a very small field. He did it in the last Pan Am Games and can probably offer some good advice.
I for one know that Jeff for the Pan Am games and Clint for the World Championships should both be ready for the heat. They have been doing workouts and runs in the typical 80-90 degree heat with high humidity here in Michigan of late. It will be that way 'til at least August. These guys don't duck the heat, cold, snow.....
Linda Somers Smith gets in with a 2:39. I would have thought more American women would have taken the opportunity to race and qualify and go to Paris. Nothing against Linda, she earned her spot and is going to race, but how old is she now?
Heat is less of an issue than the fact that the field will probably be smaller than their usual training group.
No offence to Jeff or Chris but the best heat runner is not selected ,My coach Eddy Hellebuyck proved in Boston he can run with the best on a hot day.He won marathons in the past in Hawaii,Bangkok,Manila,Tahiti,Barbedos,Jamaica and many more.
Good point, Bear. Is Eddy in marathon shape now?
He is getting ready for Fallmouth and some other shorter races.
I spoke to Jimmy Hearld at the end of may and he told me that he would not be running worlds. So unless he changed his mind since then, USATF might find a replacement.
age doesn't matter! Colleen DeReuck is beating just about everyone out there and she is almost 40.
yeah, kudos to Linda Somers and Eddy being top masters AND running with and beating the rest of us.
If Eddy is the best Heat runner the USA Has, then he should have not dropped out of the race at Nationals. Does he teach you how to drop out of races so that you will be ready for the next one. All he had to do was stay in the race and finish top 8 and he would of been on the Team. Stop crying Eddy. If you would finish races, maybe you would make another team.

It is great to have fans but it is even greater to have educated fans. Eddy new exactly what he needed to do to qualify for the World Championships. Top 3 in Birmingham this year or sub 2:13 elsewhere. He dropped out of Birmingham because he was out of the money (many people on this board defended that behavior). They then chose the next 2 finishers in Birmingham for the Pan Am team. I am sorry but the dollar was more important to Eddy than representing his country. Thank God they had some qualifying standards for this WC and didn't resort to putting together a similar squad to last time. If you don't remember, the Japanese Womens team beat the American men.
