I think what we all really need is an accurate description. How hot were the guys? What were they wearing, spandex or floppies? Was there mud involved? Pics please!

Hah! <3 it, tRg!
I want to know why Vigilante is such a whiny little puss. Austin seems like a cool place but that guy is a worm.
Jankowski, who finished five spots back of Heinonen, was disqualified after the race. After the University of Texas A which finished 44 points behind CU for second A filed a protest against Heinonen, meet officials determined that Heinonen`s actions weren`t enough to warrant punitive measures.
this is taken from an article from the Boulder paper, the Daily Camera
http://www.buffzone.com/news/2006/oct/28/cross-country/
With the field still bunched pretty tightly about three-fourths of a mile into the race, Heinonen said OSU's David Jankowski forced his way through the pack and elbowed Heinonen in the chest on the way by.
Heinonen said he told Jankowski to "take it easy." But when Jankowski turned and said something back to Heinonen that showed no remorse, Heinonen said he made a split-second poor decision.
The Buff stepped near Jankowski`s right foot and clipped Jankowski`s heel with his knee. Jankowski then swung around and decked Heinonen, breaking his nose and leaving him bleeding for the duration of the race.
Heinonen said he immediately asked another OSU runner to send his apologies to Jankowski, who had sped forward. The Buff then apologized himself as he passed Jankowski 3.5 miles into the race and again at the finish.
Heinonen said he never would have retaliated like he did if he hadn`t felt Jankowski had done something far out of line. Still, Heinonen was extremely remorseful after the race.
"I did something stupid that I shouldn`t have done," he said. "It wan`t classy and it wasn`t mature at all. I just made a bad decision at that point. Of the three things that happened I did the middle one. We`re both to blame.
"I`m upset with myself for losing my temper in that case."
Looks like both are to blame, seems like its pretty ridiculous that Texas gets Jankowski DQ'd, from whats been said a meet official never even saw the incident...Vigilate seems like he's out of line in this situation
What I find humorous is the fact that Texas is tied to this afterall!!!!
Wetmore did not file a protest. Anyone who knows him would know that isnt his style. Vig is the one who filed the protest.
And you know this how?
If I was willing to reveal my source or to reveal my own name (which would most likely reveal my source) I would have done so in my first post.
Probably a teammate I guess ! stay out of the Forum !
coach told us a million times !
ahhh. OK, we just have to take your word for it. Good thing LETSRUN posters would never post anything untrue....
deepthroat
Doesn't it say Texas filed a protest against Heinonen because he wasn't disqualified too? That is how I read it, not that he filed the one against Jankowski
As we move out of the conference, we are really going to miss this kind of drama. I pulled it up after 4 years because it wa fun times.
