As always one should remember not to mess with the Colorado boys. They have unusually large balls, and are inherently tougher than the rest. Nice job at Big XII's Buffs.

Yeah dont mess with them, or their nose is gonna break!
Here's the problem with that. No one actually saw this happen, it's all hear-say. Not one official or coach saw anything. Just athletes. In a basketball or football games the nation can watch the 'punch' or 'elbow' and it can be replayed. In this race only Erik and David know what exactly transpired.
The only 'proof' in this case is a bloody nose.
It was below 70?

why did the 2 time defending champ end up back in 12th. (Kenyan from KU).
Questions?
How do you try to trip someone, while running a race. In 40 yrs of running I've never seen it done, except by accident, and both parties are equally likely to fall.
Why did Chesang finish 12th? Because he sat on his ass for 6mo. And his fat cousin is even more worthless.
probably for the same reason he finished far back from the front in pre-nats

and that reason is....?......for the 2 time depending champ?
So where did the DQ'd guy finish?? I know if I got in a fight with a guy I would do whatever it takes to beat him. So who won the race between the two?
Heinonen (sp?) won between the two. I was in the race and one of my teammates was right next to the two when it happened. Personally, I think the ok state dude was way out of line. elbows, clipping heals happens ALL THE TIME, since when was punching someone in the face and breaking their nose equal? I definitely think the officials did the right thing by dq-ing the okie state guy and not the CU guy. By the way, this is the 2nd of 3 years that an oklahoma state runner has been dqed in the big 12 race. XC isn't like track, people just don't get dqed that often, you have to really do something cheap to get dqed. Heinonen is my new hero by the way, getting a broken nose and then coming back, passing, and beating the oklahoma state runner who broke his nose and placing 9th at big 12's, what a badass.
Obviously you don't know why the Okie State guy was dqed two years ago. He was dqed for cutting the course after being pushed outside of a tree on a turn.
Also, if you are right about the Ok state guy being so out of line why would Heinnonen apologize to him multiple times both during and after the race? This was not a simple act of elbowing or clipping.
Oh, and by the way, how do you punch someone while running? Especially in the face. If the guy is on your side it would throw you off stride and knock you down. If he's behind you you'd have to stop completely to throw a punch. If he's in front of you there's no way you hit him in the face.
i saw the wetmore and weiser talking after the race about it, and it didn't look like they were exchanding any pleasant comments, wetmore was PISSED!

If you are willing to point fingers please state your name. Or at least some more detail.
He got his nose bashed in and kept running. That's tough but not in an I kicked his ass kind of way.
maybe if cross country had more of this, it'd get more PR and in the end which in some sort of warped way might be a benefit.....I'd turn out to see a race if fisticuffs were a good possibility

is cross country. A few more of these more often and we just may get a spot on ESPN.
It must have been bad if Wetmore filed a protest, even though CU had the meet won easily. All the DQ did was push UT to 2nd and KU to third. Sounds like the guy got what he deserved...
....He was dqed for cutting the course after being pushed outside of a tree on a turn....
Wrong.
Then what really happened at K state 2 years ago?
Sounds like hockey: a fight took place, but a hockey game broke out.
