I'm waiting for Tom Dederian to chime in here, but I bet Bill Squires has, or has come close, to having 6 guys under 2:15:30 in one race.

I dont think anyone other than the hansons have coached 6 marathoners at one time. So no, no other coach has done that.

Once again, active.com has totally failed. Whether it's a big-time event like Ironman Wisconsin registration where no one could access the pages, or race results online like today, they have (once again) showed their total incompetence.
don't be breaking bad on active.com. they've always gone the extra mile for me. i've registered for races on their site and they always sign me up for the extra 'active advantage' club or whatever the heck it is called. real nice to sign up for a race and then get a nice $49.95 surprise a few credit card statements down the road.

ttc, what you and many other runners fail to understand is the importance of racing itself. While runners spend countless hours training, they render it useless on race day by failing to pace themselves properly.
Rather than admit (or even know) they ran way too fast early in the race, they first look to see what mistakes they made in their training.
It just stuns me that that runners will run 100+ weeks for years, train under the best coaches, and sacrifice their life for running only to piss it away in 90 minutes of stupidity on race day.

Then how did you ever choose a coach, college or team?? By how nice the guys are??
I gotta say i agree with malmo.
YES you do choose a team and coach on how nice they are. Afterall, at this level(top college, or pro) the training is basically the same, so you choose a place where u feel comfortable.

Yep, nice one for the Corunna woman and about right after a couple 1:18ish half efforts.
Anyone wonder why those elites are no longer coached by Brad? Ummm...???

No, Hudson's NOT training his first marathoners, even if you don't want to count Hudson himself. You really should get the facts straight before you form opinions that you go around posting publicly, you wouldn't look so bad. I mean that sincerely. Hudson has coached Clint Wells, Justin Young, Scott Larson, and Molly Austin in the marathon previously. Chris Siemers and others might also be in there, but I'm not 100% certain on that point. There's no good reason for Ritz to give Ed's crash more than a passing thought.

Anyone wonder why those elites are no longer coached by Brad? Ummm...???
Head Trauma wrote:No, Hudson's NOT training his first marathoners, even if you don't want to count Hudson himself.
You cleary don't have your facts straight, either. Neither Clint Wells nor Justin Young were coached in a marathon by Hudson. Scott Larson was vaguely Hudson's athlete, and when he ran his marathon only just begun receiving minimal schedules from Hudson. And Chris Siemers debut marathon was this year at Chicago. Molly Austin was the only athlete who could say she was coached in a marathon by Brad, making him clearly a novice in the distance. You could say, however, that Brad's schedules are more typical for marathoners because their NOT his schedules......their Renato Canova's. Sad but true.
didn't mean to quote you Weezee but I couldn't find Head Trauma's original statement.
This list is inaccurate.

What happened?
Whatever you say then beancounter! I must've still been in oxygen debt and have to give you credit for being right about Wells it was Barrios who coached him in his first of two marathons before he made the switch to Hudson. Do you know why he never marathoned under Hudson? If Hudson wasn't coaching Young for Chicago in 2003 then who was? My bad on Siemers. Did Tolan never run the thon?

No problem. Athletes move around a lot and it's hard to keep it straight. I don't think Tolan ever ran a marathon, not to my knowledge, but I could be wrong. I know he coached a guy named Dan Boniface, a kid out of Miami. That didn't work out. But his first real athlete was Steve Slattery, who ran fairly decent until choosing to move on. Young was coached by Mark Plaatjes at the time of his Chicago in 2003, as was Scotty Larson. I suppose Clint never chose to run the marathon under Hudson because it didn't fall into his general plan at the time. But I don't know for sure.
Wow okay. I knew that Plaatjes coached Larson before he went to Hudson but I didn't know that Young also had him as a coach. I thought Slattery was US national champ while in college with Wetmore but hasn't been able to repeat that accomplishment since that time? His bio on USTAF lists Hudson as his coach so maybe he's back with him agin.
No, Slattery is definitely not back with Hudson. He's with Salazar, I believe

Adere wins in about 20:40. The other girl wasn't too far behind. Curious about Zita, as the finish line still doesn't show her in sight. Adere's in a wheelchair from exhaustion.
Does anyone know where Zita came in at?
