I have no idea what your question is, ttc. Speak English.

Then how did you ever choose a coach, college or team?? By how nice the guys are??
Again, I sort of agree with your original point, but this one if plain dumb.
Using this logic the CU XC team should be pretty worried about NCaas this season because Ryan Deak had a bad race there in 04.
I agree with ttc. The concept it not hard to understand. If you prepare under the same training plan it would make sense to heed the performances of your teammates which go before you. This can have positive or negative effects on confidence.
No questions please... reread my post until it sinks in.
WTF is up with the results site? Only Top 5 are listed and you can't search by sex or country without the entire field coming up!

That's my point. Geez, like I said before, agree/disagree, but don't pretend to not understand.
yeah ttc actually had a pretty good point but then managed to reduce it to gibberish over the course of 3-4 pages while trying to re-explain it.
it works! wrote:

I can accept that.
Quit posting to yourself already.
I think ttc is right in some GENERAL sense. However, I personally don't think it applies to Ritz and Torres. So I see where he's coming from, but don't think he's right in this situation.
ttc would have more of a point if it was Jorge. But Ed? Apples and Oranges, really.
Well I was with a coach who sucked but it wasn't my teammates performing poorly that made me lose confidence and quit/fire the coach. I just figured that my teammates were relative neophytes and made rookie mistakes in racing, training, or both, rather than the coach not guiding and challenging them appropriately in the training. What made me eventually lose confidence was his gross inability to get ME raceready even occasionally. Maybe at the "joggersworld" level (if that's the "general sense") that someone referenced you'd see people easily spooked by finding out about people crapping out on the Daniels 50 mpw or the Pfitz 55 plans but seasoned competitors tend to be a lot more mentally tough than that.
ttc is wrong. Just you wait. I'm gallowalking my way to the OT!!
Did Torres crap himself? My friend at the finish line said he saw lot's o' crap rolling down his legs. That could explain his poor finish.
Congrats to Eric Post - 2:21.00

Anyone know his place overall.
Seasoned competitors also walk a finer line between "glorious PR" and complete "blow-up". Being 5% ill-prepared might not phase the "Gallowalker" at all: but the same, small mistakes will bite the elite runner on the ass with 26.2 times as many rabid-pitbull teeth.

I doubt Ritz sees Torres as a "rookie" or "neophyte". This is a stupid argument.
Sure thing just ask Dita all about that. I'll bet that few in today's race prepared and trained better than she did, but her execution in the face of what conditions were present from the start completely overrode all that training and preparation. It could be that Ed was a little too confident. If he just ran a 1:03:30 half, should he really be going out in 1:06 on a cold and windy day? I know he wanted a 2:12, but the conditions weren't perfect enough for an ideal race. Just because Ed didn't or couldn't adjust on the fly doesn't mean the same will hold for Ritz. Or Ed just had some issues on his own. He and Hartmann pretyt much stuk together until a little past 25k, so even though Hartmann did all the same trianing that Ed did he lost a lot less in the second half than Ed did. Sucks for Ed he didn't even get an OT time while Hartmann easily got under the A qualifier. I bet Ed can regroup and get one later in the winter or in the spring.
