yeah they are really good looking, there coach isn't though.

i think that we judge other coaches by the way they dress and how their apperance is, but do we look at the tactics they actually use. Rohl may look like a douche if u want to say that but man his mind is amazing. i will stand up for him and if anyone wants to talk about him we can. apparently he is doing something right cause cummings and wooten both kicked some as at the PSAC race. theres no doubt he knows his stuff. give him half the scholarship some of the other schools have mansfield would be a contender every year like edinboro and lock haven.
Edinboro gives barely any money to their runners.
Where in the hell can I get some tight pants like Ben Hahn.
I would bet that Edinboro has lower funding than Mansfield mostly because Mansfield does not have a football team. Edinboro is good because they have a great coach. I graduated a couple of years ago from a PSAC school I will leave nameless (but I will tell you that we never placed top 5 as a team in the conference) and if I could go back and start over I would have went to Edinboro instead, it seems that Watts always gets the most out of his runners.
Also it looks good for the boro in the future having the 3 top freshman in the conference, and from their top 9 they are only graduating one guy (although it is their fastest runner). There are a lot of things that could happen, but it looks like Edinboro will be on top of the PSAC for a couple of years to come still.
I hear some of those mountaineers are gettin hitched. they have there heads in the wrong place, thats why they ran so slow.

I will give him credit that he has done well with a program that was dead in the water seven years ago and breathed some life into it. I will not go far as calling his mind "amazing," yes he has done well with cummings, wooten and sanford but thats it. Also if his mind is so "amazing" then why did his team place 7th at psacs???
Actually, I'm one of those mountaineers that are getting hitched, and I think my head is in the right place. I didn't think I was that slow, and our coach does know what he's doing. P.S. Our coach did have the PSAC track athlete of the year and field athlete of the year in the same year. That's not just a coincidence. Don't forget about Charity, our the DMR women relay that won a few years back. He turned this program around from garbage to pretty damn competitive. Yes, even despite a 7th place finish saturday.
What the eff? Please excuse all those grammar errors. Holy junkmail I must be tired.
He has done some pretty good stuff up there, but my first and only impression of watching him coach was last year at PSACs when I watched him scream at one of his female runners who was in tears already because she dropped out. I'm not a fan of dropping out of races especially the big meets but I don't see how screaming at your runner helps the situation.
He's just a Complete Douche!
i don't think that's a fair statement
So who will when Regionals this saturday?
1 - Weiss (in a ran away time)
2 - Reagan (Will cruise it in 2nd)
3 - Neimera (strong but not strong enough to run with 2 rock guys)
4 - Arthur (See josh picking up guys in the later stages)
5 - Bluman (ran best race of his life last week but will finish 5th)
6 - Pearson ( Will prove upon his 13th place PSAC showing)
7 - Geddis (Will have the best race of his life)
8 - Hahn ( Tight Pants Hahn)
9 - fields ( first xc race back in 2 years but will surprise)
10 - Pinto ( A average solid top 10 contender, maybe top 5?)
11 - Cummings ( Will falter over the 10k distance, not a true distance guy)
12 - McLaughlin (Will shock the Region with his performance)
13 - Zubler (Has the distance background to add)
14 - Moravec (Crazy speed and has been training with the man Chris Clark)
15 - Moore (Will carry his team to a third place showing)
who is Fields? any why is it his first xc race in 2 years?
This fields you are talking about is his first name Cashmier, if so he is a man from south philly who can run a 10.9 100 meter dash.
No It's Dan Fields from Edinboro.
Cash!!!!!!!
he is set for a big race this weekend for sure.
funniest thing i've seen in a while!
Mansfield might have choked but Damn at least they look good doing bad. There freshman are hotties. Staneck and Opdyke are pretty good freshman and are looking good while running good. Cummings always been a cutie, but why did you lose the hair?
Mansfield sucks and they definately are no hotties, it must be pretty sad to get on letsrun and talk about how hot you look
A few thoughts on Mansfield and Coach Rohl:
1.) This program is on the up. In fact, it is one of the few in the PSAC that I can point to and say it is going in the right direction. Boro and Haven will continue to be tough over the years. Rock will have an occassional up year now and again...and same with Ship. But, this program is definitely going in the right direction. They have a coach that has been around a while now, they have money, they have great places to train, and they're improving year over year.
2.) The Mansfield team's performance this year is indicative of a prgram on the up...not necessarily one that has "arrived." Any coach knows that it is really tough to put together a solid top 5 (as good as SRU is this year, they are struggling with this). In particular, a team on the up often has a couple of guys that trail off at the end of the year. I'm hoping Mansfields #4 and #5 runners bounce back, but it would not surprise me if they didn't. I'm guessing that with the exception possibly of Cummings, that entire team is trying to make a big "jump" by running more miles at a greater intensity than ever before. It takes doing this over a few years to really figure it out...in the meantime, people often tend to run fast through the first 1/2 to 2/3 of the year and then fade a bit toward the end. They'll figure it out...give them a bit of time.
3.) Regarding Coach Rohl...I was also at the PSAC meet where he was laying it on his athlete pretty good. I'm not in any position to judge whether that is the right or wrong approach, but I will add two things:
a.) He had a runner that wasn't hurt drop out of states because she wasn't running as well as she wanted to be/thought she should be. She let down an entire team...she deserved to hear it not just from the Coach but from her team mates.
b.) It's just darn bloody nice to see sombody so passionate about running and running well. For whatever reason, I've never been a big fan of Coach White ('Ville), but he was definitely passionate. And, same is definitely true for Watts. I remember seeing him at Nationals a few years back and when his guys were back in like 50th place he slammed down his clip board and started ranting and raving.
So, you all can think what you want about Mansfield, their coach, their team -- but, keep in mind -- it's a program going in the right direction.
