trust me, we never accepted mediocrity. it just never worked out for us. but i wish him well and i hope he turns the program around. ok, it is time for a nap.

Don't just think of White as a sprint coach. He has done wonders with some distance runners and jumpers. I have watched this guy for some time and he will turn IUP into a national power with a complete team. He loves all events so no one should be left out.
I went to a clinic a few years ago and Pat Henry from Texas A&M and formally from LSU said "Ralph White may be the best track & field coach in the country". That is quite a statement from him.
Athletes be aware as he will expect a lot but if you can do the work you will improve tremendously. The trouble with him is that after he develops a great program he wants to find another one.
Sorry there's only one White for me and that is the man now up at Kutztown that is exiled from his alma mater.
Jorge, if IUP didn't accept mediocrity then I wouldn't be typing on this forum with a tattoo that says 411 on my leg. Haha, the good news is I'm out of the boot and hope to be running sometime next week.
And just for laughs here's an ego update at IUP... Matt Bro thinks he can be #2 on our team this year and possibly #1, and little shinsky thinks he can beat peter. It's cool to have dreams, but ... well thats just dumb.
BigBear out.
glad to hear you are out of the boot now chadero. thanks for the updates on the team atmosphere.
and you are right, everyone can have dreams, but some you just cant say out loud. has ben confessed his love to peter yet?
I miss you Big Bear.

sru guys,
nice run today at IUP. i always knew you guys liked to pack it in together. anyways, i was wondering what they are going to say about your 1-5 split now.
i hope you caught on to my sense of humor
yeah to bad they wern't running against anyone good. SRU is a good team but you cant brag about finninshing 1-5 at that meet.
Carnegie Mellon is a solid team. In addition, I did the race today unattached, the top 5 from SR all ran in trainers or flats.
Some results here:
1 Kent State University 1 3 5 6 7 22
2 University of Pittsburgh 4 8 9 17 20 58
3 Lock Haven University 10 12 13 15 21 71
4 Millersville University 18 19 22 33 37 129

7 Psu Club Team 27 34 36 38 45 180
8 University of Charleston 44 50 51 53 54 252

2. CMU-44
3. IUP-105
4. CAL-108
SRU= 0:00 (obviously not all out)
IUP= 29:26-27:44= 1:18
CAL=29:20-28:24= 0:56
Over 8k
MU and BU sit pretty close on a 10km [both 1-5 spread (3 sec diff) and points (3pts)]. That should be interesting. While CAL and IUP are close on points (3pts) they are not as close in the spread (24 sec)over a shorter course (8km). That probably will put their spreads farther apart.
SRU was abviously not going all out. When it comes time to actually compete, we'll see their talent. LHU seems to have given a fair showing.
Kutztown placed a few points ahead of WCU last week in an 8k with a 1-5=1:03. That would probably rank them around MU and BU given that their 1-5 spreads~10sec over the extra 2km.
But then again I could be wrong.
interesting. Lock Haven's course didn't run nearly as fast this year as it did last. I think it's clear Slippery Rock is much better than LHU. Haven looks very very young.
Ship beat Esu pretty easily in NY invite, ship is real young with one runner in the top 7 back from last year, looks like a rebuilding year for them.
ESU Pinto ran strong and his team looks like it is lacking depth to place very high at most meets.
