Dude JC, where have you been? I miss New Balance commercials where you ran through deserts and talked about limits & stuff.
There are two obvious strategies with the post season. Either you try and train through regionals hoping you can qualify, and then taper. Or the alternative, being tapering further out in hopes you can hold it through nationals. Whatever ship's strategy was, proved to be superior.
However, to say Lock Haven didn't run with heart shows you're just reaching for a reason you didn't get to the big dance. My suggestion would be to take a look at your own team, because chances are you think you are better than you really are. All teams earned their spot on the line. Congratulations to the PSAC, and most notably Shippensburg for bringing in that extra bid.
Anyone else extremely surprised by how quick Parsons ran? And how poorly Haven ran even considering how poorly haven does at Nats.

Parsons ran amazing and looked great very surprised. Haven was still 11th correct? Isn't that what they were ranked? Let's not be too hard on them they did make the big show after all

I believe they were ranked 11th, it's just that looking at the results, it wasn't what I would have predicted coming out of the team that ran at Paul Short. And looking at individuals, many members definitely were he indicated their potential like Robinson. Personally, I think they may have peaked too early.
Sorry, typo. Many members definitely underperformed from their potential, such as Robinson.Anything can happen wrote:

Super excited about the effort Ship had! What a run!! 5th is great just outside of a podium. That group of guys was motivated and excited all year and put a good (not great) race together. McGinely had the race of his life and earned a great AA!
No idea who that Slippery Rock dude is, but great run by him.
I really thought Mountain would be top 10. Still had a pretty strong race.
Fantastic run by Shippensburg.
Lock Haven has been incredibly consistent at nationals since 2010 with finishes of: 11 16 18 12 12 11.
However, with some of the big races they thrown down during the regular season and at PSACs and Regionals they've sturggled to make it to that next level at the National meet. Nationals is incredibly compeitive and 4 finishes in the top 15 in 6 tries is fair. But at the same time Ship has 2 top 8 finishes in the same time frame.
WHO IS TURKEY TROTTING?
your optimism is respectable but mountain was a major disapointment. that guy looked as good as anyone in d2 through october, and threw down with serious D1 competition. should've quit while he was ahead.
Aaron Russell clearly has no idea how to do well at nationals, maybe he should contact Spence and get some tips.
well the edinboro guy was the first psacer and everybody throws shiz at hammer too so hate on the coaches all you want but the athletes run how they run regardless of coach.
So with the deep field of fast runners this season what's it going to take to win some of these psac races? mile, 3k, 5k?
Top marks indoor:
800-153.3
mile- 411.23
3k- 812.23
5k- 14:20.12
DMR- 10:07.5
Yeah I agree everyone sounds frustrated that he won't listen but if it's that bad then you got to go to the next level.
In the eyes of the administration he has brought teams to nationals, has great academics. They wouldn't do anything he hasn't done anything out of line.
Try having you work your tail off for 5 1/2 months straight and you end up running 10K at regionals at an abysmal pace because you are sooo fried. At least these guys are running 30xx 10ks. Shit, I wish I could be running that. Hes got an 800 guy running in the 30 range lmao. On the other hand, I know how ya'll feel with the coaching shenanigans! Oh man, this got me fired up! At least I know it's not just my team. I think every coach except Spence has their head on straight or is that me being a bandwagon rider? lol Good luck to Lock Haven this year. God bless! P.S Maybe you guys should have a meeting with him alone to set it straight.
lmao I meant every coach has their head on backwards except Spency! woops!
How about some Indoor predictions?
800 and up. It looks like the mile,3k and 5k are going to be dirty! Judging off of what has been run thus far in cross. I could see sub 14:20 being the champ....maybe that's a little lofty, but there are some strong guys this year. 3k as always will be a battle of attrition but never the less, I am sure it will be fast. Saddle up ladies!
a battle of attrition... or just one person holding out to take the W in that race... don't act like it doesn't happen. :)
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
